As we come almost to the end of 2008... which celebrity, film star, politician or sport-sperson would you vote for personality of the year?

I would say for me, it'd have to be 'Dara O'Brien' the comedian/presenter.

My Niece Rachel Buehler who is celebrity to our family won a GOLD medal in the 2008 Olympics she played on the USA Women's National Soccer team. ;) She has already been selected to play in the Womens World Cup in 2011 on the US team. :yh_dance

Well done to Carla and her talented niece, thats an amazing achievement!

In terms of personality of the year though, its got to be Barrack Obama though hasn't it?, what an amazing story whether you support him or not, its an extraordinary political rise, and his personal popularity and charisma is unprecedented for any modern politician I would think. Thats my vote anyway.

Fair comment and i'm sure if he pulls off the promises he's made, he will be up for many more worldly awards :-6

It's got to be Barak Obama. Who else has dominated the news for the past year like he has? Who else has had such an impact not only in the U.S. but abroad. Who else will continue to be scrutinized like he will and continue to dominate the news. Who else will have such a dramatic impact on the lives of so many others? Like him or not, he's the one.

Yes, i didn't want him to win but he has certainly dominated the news and he is very charismatic.
