hello its grumpy time again on this galeswept windy day.

today i write with a subject close to my heart the BNP or british national party

anyway read on oh FG faithfull.

TWO Royal servants were among 12,000 people named yesterday on a secret list of British National Party members.

Buckingham Palace storeman Paul Murray, 52, and a retired palace porter are both on the roll of shame.

The naming of the two trusted aides is a massive embarrassment for the Royals.

Many others exposed on the register hold responsible, respectable jobs. They include cops, soldiers, doctors, prison officers — and even VICARS. Some of the jobs ban them from being BNP members.

Last night police officers and prison staff on the register faced the sack. Teachers and public service officers are likely to face disciplinary action.

The Association of Chief Police Officers said the number of cops on the list was not yet known — but anyone caught on it would be booted out.

A spokesman confirmed: “All forces are now looking through the list. Serving officers and civilian staff are prohibited by the regulations from belonging to the BNP.”

A Prison Service spokesman said: “When being recruited candidates are asked to state categorically that they do not belong to the BNP.”

Mr Murray, whose wife Jennifer is also on the list, is identified as living at the Royal Mews, Buckingham Palace.

The couple are understood to have since moved. A Buckingham Palace source said: “Although his name is on the list he has told us it is only on there because he was invited to a social event that he did not attend.”

A Palace spokesman said Murray will not lose his job. The retired servant, who cannot be identified, was exposed as a BNP “activist”.

A vicar, the Rev Dr Paul Barker, has threatened to sue the BNP for failing to keep his details safe.

BNP leader Nick Griffin admitted the list was genuine, saying it contradicted the idea that the average member “was a skinhead oik”.

Home Secretary Jacqui Smith insisted the fact that many BNP members were unhappy to be outed showed how shaming it was to be linked with the party.

why can you not be a serving police or prison officer or vicar and not be a member of the BNP? yet you can vote vote for any of the mainstream parties the tories labour or liberals.

the truth is the mainstream parties are **** scared of the BNP ever taking the reins of power.

they are **** scared because as the bnp gains poularity they are losing big brother control of the people and the people are saying we have had enough of being taxed to death job losses industries closing and out of control crime which you are not intrested in only in saving money and meeting targets while you and the royal family still flaunt off on your jollys around the world at our expense while wards close hospital remain dirty and staff overworked on very little money while the public has to put up with 12 months on a waiting list in pain for treatment

worn out railways villages with no buses because it is not profitable the list is endless .

THIS WHY THE BNP GAINS POPULARITY AND THE MAINSTREAM PARTIES TRY TO BAN IT the BNP is listening to the man in the street dont belive the lies of the mainstream parties they are afraid for their cushy jobs.

Just look at 'Gary Newlove's' smirking killers back in court appealing against the pathetic sentence they got in the first place. Another 'nanny state' judge axed some of their sentences by two years. They will be out by the time they are 25 yrs old... leaving them free to stamp on some-one else's head for laughs.

People are even ending up with criminal records for putting their bin out too early.

Jobs worth council officials even spy on residents and encourage neighbours to 'shop' each other.

The BNP have always had a reputation for thuggery but not exactly true of all members.

I hope this list will wake up the politicians of all partie's into realising that there is wide spread bad feeling in this country.

The rules should be the same for all party membership as far as the civil service goes - either membership of any is banned or membership of all is allowed. If the government wants the BNP banned it has all the mechanisms in place to ban them, and even to jail its officers indefinitely. This namby-pamby approach of "not in this organization" is just feeble and bolsters their recruitment.

There were only five on the membership list marked Reverend and I reckon only one of them exists - do you really think the others are real? In yesterday's Echo, Mr Stanton, 75, who was the BNP organiser for Rochford District, said he joined the party because he agreed with their positions on Europe and immigration. But he has now said: "I have ended my involvement with the BNP after finding out more about them at the weekend.

"It was very stupid of me, but I only read what they said about themselves, which I agreed with. Friends have contacted me to say: 'Those people are nasty.' My daughter rang me sobbing and said: What have you done?'"

All I can say is that it is about time that the British people got themselves off their large rear ends and regained their identities. This country is literally being sunk under the weight of immigrants. This is NOT a racist comment, it is common sense - we just haven't got the room or the resources to cater for such a vast influx of people. The present major parties seem incapable of accepting that mass immigration is killing our once great nation. We are rapidly becoming a third world country !

The size of their members is hardly enough to instil fear into the god of immigrants.

Anyone who thinks the BNP is 'an alternative' government is mad and i can't see how anyone could defend them.

I despise the BNP, and believe they are racist, but they are growing in popularity due to massive recent immigration and their opposition to it, they have changed their public face but the underlying theme is still basically the same.

I see. I am very aware of the 'Blackshirt' Movement. I know rather a lot about them from memory but i think i skipped the bit where we moved on to 'The National Front'. All i remember of them (yes, i was too young) is the skinheads.

The wikipedia article gives citations for its facts. I follow the citation links to the original news reports or, occasionally, I search Nexis for the articles and find them there. Wikipedia merely acts as a convenient index for related material, not as a source. In what way would you call those pieces of information "somewhat questionable"?

The BNP website, by contrast, omits a great deal of genuine history and camouflages its involvement in many a murky deed. It's the last place to go to discover what it's done.

Wikipedia is famously edited by whoever wants to do so, granted, by cross referencing you can get to the real truth, but it should never be taken at face value.

If you read the BNP link, their intentions are very clear......the opening sentence speaks volumes.

"On current demographic trends, we, the native British people, will be an ethnic minority in our own country within sixty years."

A trawl around the site makes it even clearer.

The fact is the BNP is gaining popularity due to unrest concerning immigration, and have modified their message to get wider public support. Like most political parties, if you like their popular policies, you have to suffer the bad stuff too, with the BNP the bad stuff is extremely bad. During the US elections, the head of KKK gave an interview to the Sun newspaper.

He said that they are now recruiting in the UK.

If this is true, then i would imagine that it would be the extreme BNP members that would join up. In my eyes, there is not a lot of difference.

What I described Wikipedia as is a source of keywords for finding news reports, quite often accompanied by valid hyperlinks to those news reports online. The fact that it can be edited by anyone is how it's so extensive but it has nothing to do with the usefulness of what I've described. If the keywords are misleading then that becomes apparent when looking up news reports based on them. If the hyperlinks are false then they don't lead to news reports.

Firstly that makes the claim suspect, secondly I think you'd need to do a lot of special defining of words to make it true and thirdly I don't believe it's true anyhow. That's why I use Wikipedia instead of the BNP website when I want accurate verifiable information about their claims, policies and practice.

I'm all in favour of open national borders worldwide. Things would come to an equilibrium quickly enough. I can't think of a better, fairer or quicker way of evening out the wealth disparity.

Enoch Powell was a man of great integrity and principle. He pulled a very cheap political stunt in Wolverhampton and was justifiably exiled from mainstream political power for the rest of his life. I believe, the lady he refered to in his 'Rivers of Blood' speech who he claimed could not let out rooms in her home because the community was predominantly 'black' was non-existent. It was alleged that Powell invented her to highlight the growing influx of black people andd to inject fear into the country about the rising immigration numbers.

Without googling, i don't think there was any evidence of the lady he refered to which was what warrented the content of his speech.

It would be hard to tell at this stage but he was the local constituency MP, he did hold regular surgeries and there was significant racial tension. He spoke of several constituents and was challenged to produce evidence that his claims were true. Rather than break confidence he refused to produce the constituents' letters that sourced his comment, one in particular. It was mentioned on a Radio 4 program last year and Mr Powell's constituency secretary claimed the letter still existed, that he had access to it but that even after all this time he'd keep faith and not produce it because that's what he felt Mr Powell would have wanted to happen.

I remember the story of the lady well. She claimed that she had advertised rooms to let and the only people who applied, were black. Having turned them down, she had dog poo etc put through her letterbox and her life was generally made difficult when harrassed in the street by these 'blacks'. She locked up her house and chose to live on her own, and never let rooms out again.

I did hear of 'the letter' and Powell's insistence that she remained un-known.

If he kept her confidentiality all those years even when 'Ted Heath' sacked hin, that was quite some loyality.

Arriving at Poona, Enoch was told that 'natives' were not permitted in the officer's mess, except as servants, let alone stay the night.

Enoch immediately withdrew his gear and went off with the officer (to my shame I cannot recall his name) to find a hotel where they could both stay together.

After his retirement, the Indian C-in-C would visit Britain annually. His first act was always to contact Enoch and arrange dinner.

Loyalty indeed. Fantastic stuff. I think over the years, Powell has always been viewed widely as a 'racist' by the ignorant who have never bothered to even read 'The Rivers of Blood' speech in full, let alone read anything about his life.

He always fascinated me and i must say, i quite admired him when young. From what i have read and what was passed on by word of mouth, i always came to the conclusion that he was a dignified man and the 'cowards' were Thatcher and Heath. Again, without googling, i also remeber people taking to the streets in protest at his sacking and then of course, he went on to become an Ulster MP.

I think far from being racist, he spoke only of 'controlling' immigration not abolishing it. It's here that the ignorant confuse the two with the man.
