Is there a place that lists how many threads a person starts?
I think that being a member of a forum is somewhat like being an invited party guest. As a guest you have a responsiblitiy to help make the party a success.
It would be interesting to see which members are the driving force behind this forum and the variety of intersts individual members may have.

Kindle, what you can do is go to the member's profile and check their statistics. There's an item there that allows you to find all threads started by a member. Just click on the member's username to go to their profile then click on the Statistics tab.

So, how many posts does a thread have to have to be viable?

One. If it's reduced to zero the thread's deleted.

I see.
Can you now tell me about the many members listed who have no posts at all? I can't figure this out. Why join and not post?

There's a requirement to confirm registration by email, a lot of people go through the registration and then fail to complete.
A significant fraction register and confirm in order to use the search options.
Another significant fraction register and confirm in order to send and receive Private Messages or to make entries on the Blog - that doesn't add to their post count.
The largest fraction of those with no posts are recognised spambots. They go through the registration, they go through email confirmation, they then fail to make posts which appear on the board because an automated post rejection occurs when they try. It's handled that way to waste as much of their time as possible rather than go on to other boards immediately. It increases the average cost of sending spam.
