I think I would struggle to communicate with a 'celeb' ....now sports people as you say jimbo are a different kettle of fish.....I would love to sit down for a chat with....mmmm....let me think.....Steve Redgrave...he seems 'fairly' normal although he has got sucked into the celeb world a bit.

my biggest celeb would be paul weller of the jam, a singer who's songs and thoughts have had a big impact on my life

i have seen him sing live and it was great ,my cuz has met him in london and says he is a nice guy ,if i bumped into him would i talk to him yes ,would i travel to meet him no

i mean i have nothing in common with him ,how could a conversation go

i like your music ,he says thanks then nothing

i would honestly rather meet loads of fg people and chat with them

i have met a few really famouse boxers and a few world champions at sport and you just have normal everyday conversations with these people

so are you celeb mad or not :thinking:Was when I was younger...and I mean big time and was always outside the back of the London Paladium waiting to meet my heros.Guess thats what got me so interested in the entertainment game.Thing is I went onto work with some famous faces in this country and even became friends with some and trust me never judge a book by its cover lol.I still remember using the bathroom at a party of one famous celeb and looking at the washing in the bath and thinking........flipping eck and singing to myself those famous lyrics....If they could see me now..... from Sweet Charity:D;):lips:

Hi Carolly......I think back in the 'old days' (sorry) 1960s things were a bit different . More humility.... I saw Billy Fury, Helen Shapiro, the Allisons (who remembers them ?) and they were chatty and pleased to sign autographs....there were no burly minders !

Given the right circumstance I'd have no problem holding a conversation with a Celeb. Perhaps if I were to take a week's break in a remote cottage overlooking the Mediterranean a mile's walk from the nearest village bread shop and find the Dalai Lama knocking at the door saying he was troubled by aspects of his philosophy, would I give him my opinion then I'm sure the conversation would be unfettered.

The trouble with the Celeb thing is that one assumes the time of the Celeb is more valuable and tightly scheduled than one's own and as such one's taking up a valuable commodity on which one has no call.

I am obsessed with Mats Sundin, he was the Captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and we waited 4 hours last December outside in frezzing rain......and it was worth my time to meet someone who meant that much to me.

stayed around for an hour afterwards, watching him meet the rest of his fans and to take pics.

I also waited 3 hours to meet Qadesh, in 30C weather, one of the many animals to me worth waiting to sit beside and play with!

and did so again for her, four year later.

We are only meant to see the public life of a celeb...in the entertainment arena.

Any info on their private life sells magazines. ;)
