Then, one day, the king rose from his seat as if to go down to his castle. The people watching him saw him shake and stagger and fall to the ground. The king was dead. Great was the sadness and loud the wailing. The flags on the houses were pulled to half mast and the great bell rang.Oliver Postgate is dead. Perhaps the British posters would like to recall him for the benefit and bemusement of our foreign members.

A fantastic talent and 'ahead of his time' when you see what he achieved with so little resources....making cartoons in the '50s / '60s in a shed. He 'lent' his own charismatic voice to the characters, a voice that remained memorable until his death................
