I agree and I did ask for no more on WAR in this thread, its not what the OP is about, we have threads for that, this isnt it.

Lets try and heal this rift in time for Christmas and the New Year cos ill be buggered if im spending my time on a forum full of fighting and arguing over war.

I actualy blame touchstone. if we were to go back over all the threads he posted, i think the majority were 'flaming' this American/British thing or just downright pervvy.

I'm sorry to sound smug, but i caught onto him quite early on and didn't post anything serious on his threads.

If he's logged in, he'll be pissing himself laughing at doing exactly what he intented to...The sick bastard.

Let's see Italy was apart of Hitler's crew. France actually had an underground movement to get rid of the Nazis, Switzerland was neutral as always, Poland just rolled over as did Denmark, Holland and the other mid to eastern European countries. The only ones with actual soldiers fighting the Nazis was U.S., England, Russia and Australia.

Well in answer to that, i can only deduce that as the evidence of Senators demanding The british Queen's crown jewels for 'helping out' is well documentated in the US National library, then it can not possibly be un-true.

If the American's are admiting it, there would be no need for the British documentary makers to make it anti-American. they only went from evidence from America written by Americans.

There is never any denial that America helped Britain during both world wars and i am sorry to see some British people on here using that as a tit for tat arguement.

American's have always been fierecly patriotic toward their country and this can sometimes be seen as being defensive. Like-wise the British are also patriotic but due to such massive loss in both wars, it is a tough memory to get over and this will no doubt be passed down to future generations. British naturally get hostile when reminded that we needed help, be it, what ever stage during the wars that may have been.

It is natural American's and British will become defensive should they feel their country is being mocked. However, i do like to see people from both sides of the Atlantic being able to express their opinions on here without any real bitterness. I am sure much is just light hearted banter with no ill feelings for any member harboured.

The wars should be discussed and discussed openly. To not discuss them is to finally forget the men and women from Britain, America and every other country who gave their live's for freedom and be-little the efforts of our troops engaged in war in present day.
