She is dame who amidst dames
Is a damsel
Light is her step, bright her path
Amiable like dove, appealing like a deer
Ravishing like mid-summer phlox
And becoming like light in dark
Slender and comely
Like a goddess
Are her seemly features
Standing graceful and fair
With a beauteous configuration
Like a bundle of blossoming racemes
Luster’s her face like gold
With eyeballs shiny as emerald
Ever wearing a personable smile
Emitting meanings lulling to the heart
Like a cat’s is her gait
With such agreeable footsteps
So pleasant and free
Like a bird in flight
More of an angel than an earthling
So feminine, so reserved, so articulate
In thoughts and words and deeds
So sweet, so refreshing, so fulfilling
Are moments spent with her
Represents she a consummate blessing
To those favored to be her side
A sure epitome
Of nature’s dexterity
A reason for satiety in a world of cares
A reason for gaiety in a life of woes
A reason for hope when all seem lost
Mary Jean, you’re like a stream
In the desert
That’ll never run dry
And a bright light
That’s incandescent.
