the gravity in a black sphere is like the skin of a ballooon it just keeps the matter there it goes nowhere it just stays there ...along with light and everything else that enters the black sphere's gravitational pull

one thing that puzzels jimbo's mind though .. they say nothing can exceed the speed of light or else it will go back in time (ref startrek voyager:-3)so if light is pulled in by a black sphere surely it must excellerate

There is still black holes even if dark matter goes no-where. The universe is too vast to detect exactly where this matter goes.

I have always found worm-holes and the string theory very fascinating and have read a little and watched some documentary's. One scientist came up with the idea that worm-holes are the closest we get to 'life after death'. He said it is possible that a worm-hole can go from one universe into another and planet to planet. Mind you, he did seem a bit of a nutter.

I have to go now and take my money out of one black hole 'the bank' and put it into another black hole, 'the shops tills'.

N-spheres in general relativity: Regular black holes without apparent horizons, static wormholes with event horizons and gravastars with a tube-like core

The reason they're called holes is because light cannot escape their massive gravity pull and the region is left looking like a hole. Not because it is a hole. They're not holes. They are very condensed matter tending towards singularity which is the smallest size known to man. See Planck for the smallest size known to man and then forget this when you read about string theory.

I think Jimbo's perfectly right in saying these regions of space aren't holes, it's just a label, though coming up with an article claiming they're Indeterminately Deep Throats is a bit mischievous. The physicists call them holes because you can throw things into them and they disappear, a bit like the pot-holes on the Mendips near the caves where the Wallabies live. Dropping a sheep into a Mendip pot-hole is quite like throwing one from a space-ship toward a black hole except in space nobody can hear the sheep go baaa with surprise.

The black part, the event horizon, is only something you see from outside. The sheep passes it without seeing any boundary. If it's a big black hole anyway, and if the sheep has a respirator, and if it's a smallish sheep.

What's actually down there isn't a singularity in any mathematical sense, not a point with no dimensions where all the mass lives, it's more like a ripsaw blade except thinner. The mass is stretched out into a disk because it carries all the spin of the stuff that fell in and mosly the stuff didn't fall in straight, it curled in from one side like water down a plughole. So the mass is still spinning. That's the thing that gets the sheep. Baaaa. ZZZZZZZZZZZANG!

Sorry I got so technical but it's not an easy topic to describe.

The thing about wormhole transport is just tosh, if it let the mass go somewhere else then the black hole wouldn't be heavy any longer, would it. It's a pothole, not a freeway.

Look, Jimbo. I'm not a New Zealander, but Oz isn't that far away and, on behalf of my Kiwi co-antipodeans, I feel I gotta take umbrage at the unfortunate use of sheep in this thread. I both know and also believe that New Zealanders might be sensitive to this possible slur on their noble land, and the sheep so callously dumped in Spot's black pothole might feel hard done by too. Calabi-Yau is dimensional. Unless your underpants can fit into a Calabi-Yau dimensional space. I wouldn't be at all surprised.
