News From The Associated Press
Obama is Big Time Pro Union, and also comes from the corrupt chicago political system, so I see Walmarts fear...
The question is will Obama stiffle the economic recovery process by attacking the only retailer that will make money in 2009?
If I were Walmart I'd close every store that a claim comes from, for the first 1/4 of 2009. And release a press document stating due to lawsuits emeinating fomr thie stores they are considering closure permanently.
I'm lacking knowledge on this one Jester... why would Obama stifle the economy by attacking Walmart?

But he will side with the unions on this one and Walmart will become union or die under this unpresident.
Ah got yer!
It appears very similar to what Thatcher did here with our miners and the unions. That got really nasty. The police went in to protests etc.
I hope it doesn't come to that.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS JESTER AND HOSS

Not exactly.
Margaret Thatcher would love Wal-Mart.

Even after all these years, and even as a foreigner, the mere sight of her name makes my skin crawl.
She offends me on a human level.

I was actually quite young in Thatcher's days but was still interested in current affairs.
One thing i'd have love to have seen (probably too late now) is the miners taking the police to task for police brutality on Thatcher's orders.
I remember her bastard thug police force beating the miners and her relentless persuit of the unions (Scargill) back then.
There are people that hail her as a heroine on here. I just think maybe they are too young to remever exactly what she did to our country.
The Falklands war sickened me also. General Galtieri sent 15 year old boys with a rifle in their hands to defend the 'Malvenus' from British attack. Our troops were ordered to shoot as in any war. There are more post Falkland war shock syndrome victems than 'Desert Storm' because they had to blow away kids on Thatcher's orders.
How convienient that she is now in the grip of dementia and can't remember a thing??

The Falklands war was just idiocy, a group of islands, an old coaling station on the other side of the world was worth nothing to anyone. That's war for you.
Yes your right. She sold everything completely stripping our country of it's assets. I don't believe we have ever actually recovered to this day from her government.
It's very easy to blame present politicians for the British credit crunch but it all started with her government.
The Falklands was indeed ridiculous. I remember hearing the news that 'British troops had taken Port Stanley'. I had to laugh out loud. Populatio approx 20 people and 60,000 sheep.

I come from a pro Union household and would be thrilled if Walmart went bellyup!
