i know it's hard to back down and extricate yourself from a no-win situation...sometimes it's just best to give it up. i gave you the opportunity to show some class. didn't work. why don't you take a little break, save whatever face you can, and come back later with a different topic? i have young sons, i know this is a challenge to your manhood, but you're not winning. be gracious in defeat...another life-lesson.

Who, for F's sake, are YOU to judge HER??? She did NOT, by any stretch of the imagination show more compassion for a person than an animal. Where did you create THAT scenario from???

The human being IS the one to get mad at here. Not the dog.

I tried to gently suggest that "affended" wasn't the right word to use

and not just because of the spelling.

Why did I say anything here? It was purely a way to vent, because I

know I can, and I usually find people to be supportive. Of my

frustration level, if nothing else.

I would have "forgiven" the jogger if she had said anything close to "Oh,

I'm sorry, I didn't realize." That public bike path is there for everybody

to use. There are signs posted listing the city ordinance about keeping

all animals on leash. There are many out there who have their dogs

off leash, and I'm fine with that. I used to walk my dog out there

without a leash. But I would never for a minute let her chase and stress

baby quail. In her younger days, she was allowed to run through the

creek, but never during the mallard nesting season or when baby ducks

were present.

I think you would have done better to post here and disagree with me

without making it nasty. I have had disagreements with people on here

before but they presented their views in an extremely mature manner

and I still to this day, respect them. And in fact, love them for who

they are. Regardless of disagreements.

By bringing up that I'm not against hunting, I was trying to get across

to whomever might read the post that I can in fact distinguish between

the two different things. A controlled environment hunt of adult birds

versus a marauding uncontrolled illegally off-leash dog stressing baby

quail maybe to the point of their death. The quail in the city limits aren't

ever going to be subjected to hunting, right? So those babies could

grow up for all to see.

Maybe you just get a little thrill out of stirring up sh!t but I think if you

look and learn, you'll still find ways of stirring things up but in a way

that lets us ALL enjoy this beautiful garden just a tiny bit more.

My husband and I always try to help out as best we can. whenever their is a need we can do. Like our nieghbor/ aunt needs a ride somewhere. and I always raise to the occassion. We bring clothes that children where, not to the salvationarmy. But directly to the people of this town. at the churches. whenever their is a can drive we can least spare two. i even go out and buy some.

It makes me mad, when I see people treat people badly. IRKS ME TO THE CORE. Especially dissibabled people.:-5 or my family
