Countdown to the FG meet

Post by Imladris »

In just 7 weeks I shall be boarding a train to take me to the meet, where I get to turture Jimbo - can't wait, planning ways to make him suffer - I think hugs and fart cake may top the list!

How about a belated 'secret santa' for all those going to the meet?

If anyone is interested let me know (here or by pm) and I'll make a list.

Thank you, I was thinking of setting a small limit to spend as we've all got enough expense at the moment.

I don't want anyone to feel that they have to do this though and I'm quite happy to let the idea die out if not enough want to.

*It's been a long day - I had to correct my spelling of 'die' - this is not good considering how many years I worked in a funeral directors!!*:-5:wah:

Have fun you lot, i will be with my wife for her birthday weekend as originally planned.

We're accepting your invitation to meet you for a drink, that's all we're doing. We're not expecting you to give any more time or attention to us than that.

In order to be there in London we're each arranging to be there for anything between a half day and a week. Those staying overnight are arranging to be near enough to party. Those there a couple of days are arranging to spend a lot of that time doing touristy things. The reason for all of that is so we can successfully present ourselves, brushed and tidy, for the hour or so the pair of you you have set aside for us. It seems to make far more sense, when we're gathering from the extremities of Britain, to make use of those extra hours rather than all get there separately and all leave an hour later. Hence the label and the option of taking a surprise token each to amuse one of the others with.

Here here! Pinkchick is coming over from Ireland, makes sense for her to stay for a couple of days, I'm staying two nights to make a break out of it (Barman - I live just along the coast from you so you know it's not a quick 'pop in' for me either)

The meet we had in Birmingham was a very fluid event, I stayed one night, others stayed two, Jimbo and Suzy were there for a few hours, Krammie paid a flying visit (more like hobbling on his recently operated on knee)

No-one wants to intrude on Mrs Barman's birthday weekend, it's just a good excuse to fix a date to get together and stick to it!

You make me sick.It made a fixed immovable place and (especially) date, the lack of which is the prime reason they've been so difficult to arrange in the past. It also provided a nucleus of people who were in London eager to meet you. No slight was intended. I'll note now that it can be considered insensitive and insulting and avoid doing it in future. I'd point out that nobody but me was involved in suggesting it.

OMG:confused: How did this misunderstanding happen...what a shame:rolleyes: What happened to Soberano?...he's such a tosser and jokester himself....

Wow...I'm really speechless:-2 This is very sad to me.

I hope the rest of you wonderful people will still meet and not spoil your fun. I would give anything to meet you all. But, January is out of the question for me..In fact, the only good time for me to meet you is in the summer when I have off from work.

Guess this means that Soberano and the Mrs. will not be meeting me in Cornwall next year:-3

Right then, I've just booked my train tickets, Pinkchick has booked our accommodation, it's all sorted now - so what we need next is a role call of who is going, when they're going and then we can start working out where and when to meet!

It's in London across the final weekend of January and everyone's welcome. We might have a dozen there at a guess. We're likely to gather around Tower Hill at some respectable hour on the Saturday.
