Puppy Rosie has gone into her first season and she's only 7 months old. It does'nt seem fair as she's so tiny.
Her poor little woo woo is so swollen and i wondered if any members knew of anything i can use on her because she seems to be quite sore. She has no infection.

My mums Jack Russell Kelly used to get like that and we used to put a pair of knickers on her. You could bathe her with warm water but id not add lotions and potions on a dogs bits, bad enough when we test stuff on ours isnt Oscar, you never quite know what reaction you will get.

Rosie is a little jack Russell as well. Mr O wanted to put knickers on her but i said 'where will she keep her fags?'
I didn't want to put any lotions on incase she licked them off and it was harmfull.
I will try bathing her later, i think your right, that will help a lot.

Yes, she will be spayed. I have always had rescue dogs until i got Scully as a pup 12 yrs ago and she didn't start her first season until 9 moonths old. I was expecting Rosie to be about the same and didn't expect it at 7 months old.
The blood loss is heavy for a little one. As i write this, she's chasing her ball up and down the hall so she's quite lively.
I will try a warm bath for her to see if that helps.
Thanks guys.

Warm water with a little salt or Bicarbonate of soda may help, salt is very healing.
