BBC announce cease-fire in Gaza

The BBC news has just this minute announced here that a cease-fire has begun in Gaza.

The first motion i expect to see is vital aid being air-lifted to the Palistinians. Or will Israel stop the bombardment yet continue to deprive them of fuel, water, food and medical supplies.

The 2nd motion i would like to see is Israel held to account for war crimes.

You'll soon know folks. If Hamas have no option but to continue to fire rockets, it means Israel is with-holding aid.

I do not understand how Israel reckon that Hamas are the world's enemies. This seems to be the basis they want justify their actions by. Yet we know that they have acted indiscriminately against the civilians in Palestine when they should have been focussing only on Hamas.

I'm sorry, but this is one of the reasons why I want to see political power devolved.

Israel claims that Iran is supplying Hamas in smuggled weapons. What they really mean, is they don't want the elected government, Hamas, of having anything to defend the Palistinian people in Gaza with.

I am in total agreement with you.

I am in total agreement with you.

I would like to see Israel brought to book over this. It is unlikely though considering how many pies they have their fingers well and truly drilled into.

Exactly. Even Condeleeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzaaaaaaaaa Rice was signing agreements yesterday with Israel and Egypt to stop the smuggling of arms to Hamas from Iran. It sounds good but being a cynic, i believe this was a move to also control what aid gets through to hold Hamas to ransom. Yet it was 'Rice' who told Israel not to bomb UN buildings and they completely ignored her by bombing the UN compound to destroy vital aid supplies intended for Gaza and a UN school.

America will never hold Israel to account for war crimes, there is too much jewish money in America.

Israel have even admited to using illegal white phospherous to bomb Gaza yet no-one will take them on. I do think the tide is changing. This latest onslaught has shown Israel in their true colours and unfortunately, America who funds them and has been funding them since 1971.

They must be brought to account and now is the best time to do so.

I just knew it was too good to be true and Israel's cease-fire had to have Israel still holding the ace card.

A cease-fire was called but the Israeli's will remain inside Gaza incase of further attacks by Hamas. Naturally, Hamas have vowed to carry on until the Israeli's leave Gaza..... and they won't.

You need to gather evidence of any alleged war crimes and then accuse them of a war crime and then try to hold them accountable- you just cant make stuff up and try them for it.

If Hamas does fire rockets it means they agains cannt be trusted in a ceasefire agreement- like all the other times they launched rockets under ceasefire agreements.

I am in agreement with you on the aid being inspected for weapons... I have no problem with that.

I added a link of news just published here in my prior post of the conditions of the cease-fire and it's not as clear cut as it was when i posted the thread. It has now emerged that the cease-fire is on condition that Israeli military stay inside Gaza. Naturally, Hamas have vowed to fight on until they are out. Israel will not withdraw incase Hamas attack again. This is not a cease-fire...... This is stale-mate. Israel should never have entered Gaza let alone still be there in what is supposed to be a cease-fire. The Israeli's as usual expect Hamas not to fire while their is Israeli presence still in their land. This is holding the Palistinain people to ransom, nothing else. They will not give Palistine an inch and a cease-fire should be agreeable to both sides not just to the Israeli's. This cease-fire will be broken by the morning if Israel don't withdraw from Gaza.

We have Palistinian refugee's and immigrants here Jester. I'm proud of being from a country that welcomes and protects the real victems but we don't get too many Jews in our country.

Israel indiscriminately killed civilians and children. They could have taken a humane course of action to remove Hamas without killing civilians and children. Israel are not without the necessary resources to do this.

I have to agree that Britain has some ridiculous laws. Our Human Rights act is a joke. Yet, we have seriously considered moving to America because it is a free country over Britain. We may not agree on foriegn policy but it does not stop us admiring many aspects of America.

I turned my TV and radio off....... Did i miss something?

I have said many times before that the Israeli military are advanced enough to use intelligence to track and capture Hamas insurgents not just bomb the shyte out of anything including the UN.

The Death toll so far

Palistine.............. 1,200 Confirmed

Israel ...... 25 confirmed

You have not missed anything important, just a turn in the style of reporting to "unbiased" reporting and enquiry crap. Lots of "opinions" of non-influential minors.
