Lisa Bonet named her child the following:
NAKOA-WOLF MANAKAUAPO NAMAKAEHA MOMOA
How'd you like to be a teacher calling role and come across this name? Worse yet, how'd you like to be in kindergarten learning to write it?????????? :yh_rotfl
A number of countries have toyed with banning some names but delving into so personal a decision (and the possible lawsuits) has kept this out of legislation.
What do you think about some of the names we are hearing about lately? How harmful can a uniquely different name be to a child?

Although for the most part I agree with Sunnys view, I also think some names are well cruel. Like the person I know who named her daughter Mushroom and her brother is called Brocolli:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
Some names are purely for the parents to show how "wacky" they are:rolleyes:
When picking my kids names I tried to put myself in their shoes and think about the spelling and pronouncing of their name and how it would sound when their as old as Carol:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

When all 4 of my children were born we gave them old fashioned names. No top 10 names were applied and even for the middle names too. I have yet to run across another Quinlan.:-4

when naming your children, you should think first that they have to live with it.
Life is just to short for drama.

Knew a lad at school who's surname was Ake. His parents named him Edward....(true story).
NAKOA-WOLF MANAKAUAPO NAMAKAEHA MOMOA.
Sounds Maori to me. Any Kiwi's on the board? Lon?
How'd you like to be a teacher calling role and come across this name?
(laughs) Both Britain and the US are multicultural countries - teachers regularly deal with names like these. When I was doing my teacher training in Leicester (big asian population, lots of turbans of various varieties) I spent several weeks thinking one of the girls was a boy. The staffroom laughed itself silly!

The crowd: "Yes! We are all individuals!"
