Well, today's the day for the outgoing Presidential Pardons list.

Any bets?

10 Bush pardons to watch for - Josh Gerstein - Politico.com lists the most contentious ten possibles. I don't think it goes as far as I would in its speculation.

I definitely think Ramos and Compean should be freed. This was a grave injustice to them and I think it is shamefull that they were so badly treated.

7. Commutation Prospects: Former Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean

Status: Convicted in 2006 of shooting fleeing drug smuggling suspect who was illegal alien; Compean sentenced to 12 years in prison; Ramos to 11 years

Pros: Crusade for clemency led by CNN anchor Lou Dobbs; commutation supported by Sens. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and John Cornyn (R-Tex.), as well as conservative lawmakers

Cons: Dobbs was no friend of Bush’s immigration policy; could be seen as endorsing police abuse

Politico Odds: 3 to 1

Clocks ticking..............;);)

Just what are your speculations anyway?

Maybe President Bush has more restraint than his predecessor on this matter?

Bush did commute their sentences at the last minute. Ramos and Compean will be released on March 20th. Just two months away. Good for them.
