Obama Institutes Ethics Rules

Post by Kindle »

The news reporters are closely following our new President Obama through his first day of work. I was fortunate to be home in time to hear him address some of his senior staff prior to being sworn in.

I was very impressed with the hard stand he is taking. He stated they were all servants of the people and it was a privledge to be chosen to serve. They were there to make things better, not to improve their own situation or the situations of any of their friends. He has initiated guidelines for freedom of information based only on the law as it pertains to the security of our nation and not just because someone wants to say no.

I feel very optimistic right now. Polititions tell you all kinds of things when they want your vote, but though he has delayed things he said he would do, there are other things we are already seeing done.

Obama Institutes Ethics Rules

I downloaded a copy of Mr Obama's speech, Kindle and am rereading it. Very moving. I think he is very aware that he is not a magician. He has become President in very difficult times - and is certainly going to have his work cut out. I don't know how successful he will be, but I am certain that his strength and courage and intelligence mean he is in with a fighting chance. With the help of the American people, and all the rest of America's allies and friends everywhere. Rolling up my sleeves as I write... :-6
