How long must the world wait ?

Post by listening »

why is every one waiting for God to do something? Why is every one waiting for him to come back?? Why doesn't every one just get up and do something yourselves?

It is not God's fault that all these horrible things are happening on earth. It is human's fault. God gave free will to us and can not make us..every one of us, on this planet change their hearts from evil to good. Just like a parent can not make or force your child to do certain things...just like children, sometimes, we learn the hard way...God can not force our hearts to be good. He can not force us to love one another enough that we all just simply stop fighting, and starving one another...If you want the evil to stop then stop fighting with your neighbors, stop cutting fellow drivers off in traffic, stop getting pissed at the slow lines in grocery stores etc etc....DO start helping out the elderly, the sick, small children, give money to the hungry, take care of your neighbors etc etc etc...then and only then will the world change for the better....and if you think that this is not the answer then stop asking God questions like why etc etc....

I think you make a good point.

All true, listening- that's been true religion since the beginning.

What's different about the second coming is that it's the only time in history since the flood when all the inhabitants of the earth, living and dead are judged saved or lost all at once.

The most significant event that is in progress now, and until it is completed Jesus cannot return, is the final decision of every living person on earth for or against God. Revelation says there is a point where it's as if probation has closed and says, "Let him who is righteous be righteous still, let him who is wicked, let him be wicked still."

I agree with you that the terrible things happening on earth aren't God's fault in the sense that anyone could find fault with Him or blame Him for them, but at the same time, they are things prophesied, things that had to happen, partly to help facilitate our decisions for or against God that will fix everyone's eternal destiny.

Once that's done, "Ready or not, here He comes."
Look what the cat dragged in.

Basically the book of Revelation is equivalent to a political cartoon of the era. It has absolutely nothing to do with any future events.

I agree with the sentiment that it is time we got off our backsides and did "something". That too is God's will.

Hello Telaquapacky.:) ...Nice to meet ya:-).I see what your saying...unfortunately I do not believe Jesus is going to return...I believe the prophesies in the old test...were fullfilled in the time of the new test...the book of Rev. has alot of stuff just repeated from old test...yeah I do believe in what Jesus did, he destroyed sin on the cross and made way for us all to be able to do good for this world but to many christians are sittin on their duffs waiting for the rapture while consuming as much as possible because they think God will fix everything laterzz...I just do not buy it...I am not trying to be to harsh or anything but this rapture stuff really ticks me off...I just do not see the Bible teaching that stuff at all and the fact that so many people who do not believe get completely turned off by the preachin....

We are all responsible for the way the world is....plain and simple.

I totally agree with listening (welcome to FG by the way! :-6 )

It seems as though people these days are using God as a scapegoat - someone to blame when sh***y stuff happens. of those semi-believers that repeatedly question why God doesn't come down and wave a hand and make everything better again, who remembers to thank God when something great happens? It strikes me that people find it really easy to blame a God they don't even know if they believe in for the things they cannot justify. There is no thing as true natural justice on this plane of existence - good things sometimes happen to bad people and bad things sometimes happen to good people. you can't explain it, the only thing you can do is learn from it and work to stop it happening again. We have to learn from our own mistakes. When I was a kid, if I hurt myself playing a stupid dangerous game, I didn't get sympathy, I got told I shouldn't have been being so blummin' stupid. when God gave us free will, he made us responsible for our own actions. He never said, 'don't worry if you balls it up guys, I'll pick up the pieces every time'. We can't have it both ways.

Life may well be hard, but surely that's better than life being dictated?
