I had a fabulous weekend. My family came down on Friday and left this afternoon.
On Friday night we had a ball in Klees Pub and listened to Irish music. Then we came home and talked all night and drank "Grand Marnier." Wow, that is a lovely drink...but you can only have a little bit...very strong. It will be my new drink now.
On Saturday morn we left early for Atlantic City. We walked the boardwalk and along the sea for hours. Then we went to the Tropicana and did some gambling. I love to play the slots and won $200...woohoo. We ate at this lovely Cuban restaurant that looks like the old part of Havana....lovely... Later on we went to Ri~Ra and listened again to Irish music.
They treated me to everything and gave me a wonderful gift to be used in the Tropicana...WOW....Think I'll come back and treat myself to a massage and dinner or stay overnight:guitarist
Now, it's back to catching up on work today and posting in FG:-4

Awesome on your winnings and the weekend, Kathy!! And watch the Grand Marnier. It's great, but lethal. Grin. I am safely home, Odie. Had a good flight. Tokyo to Sydney is a doddle after my usual wanderings. Only ten hours or so, a night flight, and within a similar time zone. Got in Sunday morning dawn and was on the usual ferry to Manly by 10am. Did however fall asleep on the beach mid afternoon, but luckily this one time I'd actually hired a chair and umbrella so woke up unburnt to a crisp. Had to get up before dawn this morning (Monday) to return to Sydney airport to collect Romy - home at last yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaaaaaaa from Paris, and she's in pretty good shape, only mega thin. 16.5 BMI which is way too low. I'm going to have to slowly feed her up. She has done wonderfully to be awake still at 8pm and will no doubt sleep like a baby tonight. Anyway.. we're going for a short stroll... It is still mega hot here, and when we went for a dip in the sea this afternoon she was all wintry white.. guffaw, like most of you probably. Won't take her long to get a nice hint of tan I expect in sunny Sinny. Love to you all !! It's a pleasure to visit in Kathy Ellen's Beach Hut...

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you are also good. I'm fine and dandy. Looking forward to spending a weekend soon with my visiting Irish rellys. We'll be up all weekend chatting:wah: I'm also spending a 4 days in Florida. My friend's daughter is getting married at the beach. I can't wait to see my friends and enjoy some 75 degree weather. I hate the winter anymore.
Do you have any vacation plans this year?

OK, I did something really, really stupid on Thursday night.
Had a lovely chat on the phone with Ducky and was set to almost call it a night and have an early night.
Then, I said no, since the plumber is coming the next day after work with my brand new toilet and parts for my sink, I should spray the baseboard heater next to the toilet a nice glossy white.
***I have an old shack, no one loved it before I bought it. Everything needs to be replaced***
So, I carefully opened all the windows, turned off my heat, put a mask on and then sprayed the baseboard twice from a distance.
Upon reading the directions on the paint again, it said that it needs all night to dry...oy vey, I used the wrong paint. I meant to use the one that dries in 15 min.
So, I went to bed with my electric blanket on and the heat off. I woke up at 2 AM realizing that there's something wrong. I read the paint can again and it said that it should be used only outdoors.
I was afraid to turn the heat on again as I didn't want the baseboard to explode. Finally, I called the plumbing co. at 6 and they said they would send the plumbers over early. Well, they didn't arrive until 10 AM.
By then I looked like and Eskimo all bundled up and couldn't stop shaking. The plumbers worked for 7 hours, got my heat going again and appliances installed.
I sat in a chair with a small heater and shook all day. I had severe pains in my tummy and couldn't get warm. I finally fell asleep at 6 on Fri. and woke up this morning feeling better.
I honestly did not know what it was like to be cold. All Thurs/Fri it was 40F in my home. That's not bone-chilling but to me it was.
I've learned my lesson and can only understand now how those without heat suffer so much.

Thank you Pinkchick and Kaz:-4 I think that I may have inhaled some of those fumes also.
I'm feeling better now, but still sick from the whole ordeal. It's almost noon on Saturday and I've decided to stay in bed for most of the day. I'm just going to chill, sleep, chat on FG and watch tv. I'll only sneak out later to see if Carol's package arrived:-4
In fact, I have that new movie, from Netflix, that I've been looking forward to watching "Secret Life of Bees" that I hope to watch later;)

SO GLAD TO HEAR UR OK KATHY,WE ALL HAVE BEEN GUILTY OF NOT READING THE INSTRUCTIONS PROPERLY I DONT THINK U WILL DO THAT AGAIN.

We are going there for Quin's first communion in April. You can also use it at the Outback Steakhouse too. Went there for the first time ever last summer...yum burgers, wings, etc. Great pub food.....good thing I looked up your zip code to see if there was one near you:wah:. Flat Stanley should be arriving some time this week, so keep an eye out.
