I cant believe what I have just heard on the Radio......they want to change the words of What Can We Do With The Drunken Sailor to What Can We Do With The Grumpy Sailor.....ye right thats gonna make alot of difference fgs.

Funny enough, When my mum and I go into Chester City shopping we always have dinner at Mouls a go go.

Moules a go go

You were always shown to to your table and after ordering they would bring warm bread with balsamic dip and olive oil dip.

Went there the other month and now they call it a pre starters to share ¦.

Not surprised babe...shame cause for what it cost to give you they lose more when people stop going there out of principle.I remember as a young girl singing in the Pubs on a Sunday Lunchtime in the East End and on the bars was prawns....Roast Potatoes .....Pickles and loads more...all free .....oh indeed so much has changed:-4

Call it PC but i agree. In this day and age, it is insulting to many people battling with alcoholism. It makes alcoholics seem amusing.

What will we do next.... laugh at 'Spastics'.

Some times PC is deserved.

You misunderstood why i used the word. It was to highlight that we have indeed banished such words due to the fact they cause the disabled distress.

That was my whole point..... To refer to some-one battling with alcohol addiction as a 'drunk' is as offensive as refering to the disabled as 'spastics.'

its just a song about a sailor who got drunk... i have been known to get drunk on occasions throughout my adult life.. i am not a battling alchoholic though:yh_rotfl

I agree with you in essence but under PC law, you can not have one rule for one and another for some-one else.

Even if only one person is offended, under our laws they have a right to lobby to have it removed. yes, it get's very silly but i can see the basis of it.

Spastic is a derogatory term that was changed a long time ago. Most people only use that word in an insulting way these days.

Very true Welsh one but as a member of the Labour Party it is my duty to defend such critisism of our wonderfull PC laws that i voted for under Tony Blair. :sneaky::sneaky:

I am over the PC garbage we survived with all the songs,names etc.

Time for people to get a grip & get on with life.

Have a laugh,to much PC going on.

I do take exception to anyone calling special needs people ,spastics though.
