And the answer would be ..."no wuckin furries, job's right mate."

Problem with these handouts though is the self funded retirees won't get a cent . They will be worse off because all their assets are in stocks etc. They have probably payed off their house and now living on their savings and shares. The drop in the interest rates wont effect them, but the rate hike will. They lose no matter what. which is kind of a kick in the teeth after doing what we'd all like to do in retirement, and that is being self sufficient.

i looked up our constitional laws ...and Rudd is right they are not allowed to be in surplus if australia is in crisis. Albeit it's not our crisis, but it is affecting us .

The rest of the world went belly up and here everybody did the big .."UH OH" And stopped spending in panic.

I think the spending on government schools is taking care of the fall out of all those who will be withdrawing their children from private ed...it will put a strain on the public school system.

If people stop buying and building homes ...people will be out of work.

If we stop spending on furniture and retail items business will be closed

Do you remember the reccession of the late eighties? Well that put us in good steed for now. We saw the greed and Bondie and Skase go to prison/flee/or died.

Remember all those people who were affected by the HIA crash? Well we have to now see this on an American scale ....they have a lot more Bondies and Skases. Even to the point of asking for assistance from their government. Nah we'll do okay with little casualties but their will be some of course....worried about my sons job. there will always be work for him down here but ...it's not a first choice situation.

I think we are going to be in some very deep c r a p.

I think by June it will have hit the fan.

I don't want any payout.

If they have to give payouts give some more to the poor bloody pensioners who will definatly need some more cash.
