What is up with medical care?

When I had cancer 5 years ago - I was charged the exact amount the Docs charged the insurance companies. It was an astounding amount of money.

I went this month for a bunch of 5 year work ups for my cancer and got 30% - 50% discounts for not having insuranc.e. My bills would have been 1750.00 I paid $930.00. It's called self pay!!!!!! Yes - I have to pay within 6 weeks of the bill or work an arrangement out. My gosh! Thanks for the Doc's who now if they don't have to pay their insurance people.
