Get your wind machine out and blow it West to us especially here in SE. Pennsylvania. Jeez, I should have gave them the day off last Wednesday but didn't. Good snow day.

No doubt the country will grind to a halt again. There has been a bit of an up-roar here over teachers closing schools but i think if the teacher has to risk their life driving to work in ice and snow, they are absolutely right. I can't wait for more snow but i don't fancy the howling winds much. My TV ariel always falls off the roof. :wah:

Well my kids head principal who is a hard headed steely eyed b*tchy nun didn't even bat an eye and called for school 2 hours delay. Should have kept them home, but then again on Prez day here on Monday she is demanding they all attend:wah:. I called her the other day and lied (yes I lied to a nun, crucify me) that we are going skiing for the weekend:wah::wah:

Naughty Duckie, lying to a nun :wah:

Why should any parent risk their kids lives getting them to school if it's that bad?

And what if it really comes down while they are in school and they can't get home? Especially in high winds? Lorries turn over on roads and all sorts.

No worries dear. I picked them up after school and we are only about 4 blocks from the school. they always walk home after...I drive them in the mornings in the winter. Come spring, they will be walking to and from. The way they eat they can use the good exercise...mind you they aren't fat, but the walk does them good.

Our government can really be arsses at times. We have such a problem with obese kids and bone idle parents that the government is coming up with some nonsence about paying mothers to WALK their kids to school for god's sake.

I was a very driven child........ my father drove me everywhere :wah: In a bentley as well :wah:

IT'S SNOWING REALLY HARD IN BRISTOL

Given what's happened in Australia, I don't think we should be complaining about a bit of snow. It's our own fault if we can't deal with a mild snowdrift without requiring the use of the Army.

It is absolutely pathetic the way this country responds isn't it?

Good god.. what would happen if germany declared war on us?

Still, we'er British and moaning about the weather is a national requiste especially when stood at a bus stop for any length of time.

Just looked out the door again and it's till coming. :D:D

If Germany declared war on you, nothing would happen, you would just remind them that you have Nuclear Weapons and they don't. Hard to argue with Trident missiles.

Though if by some mad accident the nukes didn't work and the Germans invaded, you would eventually end up living in a country, where buses and trains ran on time, you'd have a heath service, a functional social welfare and pension system, you'd get your trade union rights back, you would make your own cars, and banks and bosses would only earn about 10-20 times the average salary as opposed to 340 times the average salary, and you wouldn't automatically do everything the Americans told you to do, so it wouldn't be so bad. Though the moustache would be back, and you'd have to listen to a lot of techno.

That said, you'd probably also wing the World Cup again under German management, so it's swings and roundabouts init. :wah:

Don't worry, we are equally as bamboozled by a mild snow event as you are, we are also undone by more than about 10 mm of rain, by winds above 60 kph, and by leaves that blow of trees too hard. Many people get scared by the countryside despite the fact its only populated by badgers and foxes and the odd vole, our rivers are essentially mostly 4 foot deep streams, and we consider anything above 3000 feet high to be a significant mountain, that can only be contemplated accessing by helicopter.

In other words we have gone very, very soft.
