What Would You Do With 5 Million?

Ok out of the blue you decide to buy a lottery ticket and it wins you 5 million pounds/dollars....whatever country your in that will cover:D.....so what would you do with the money?????

Pay off my mortgage, hire a landscaper to take my old garden out & put a new one in, buy myself a Honda Passport....go out to dinner everynight:D to just the places up the road which have good food. Nothing fancy. Visit friends in the UK and maybe buy a house on the beach.

I would set up trust funds for all the children in my family.

Give the one's struggling in my family a sum each

Donate to my charities.

Stick the rest in a high interest account.

Visit all the places i have longed to visit.

I have everything else i need in life that money can't buy.

Sleep well at night or during the day if I chose.

Make sure my family was taken care of.

Pay off the mortgage.

Make sure none of my friends needed a boost.

Hire some interor decorators that have my orders on how to improve my home.

Then take a trip around the world and see everything and everyone I want to.

Bank the rest in a fund for my grandchildrens college fund but have access to it. One way to get around taxes.

see the family right first:D definately move house,, i like my house and its ok where i live but i would love to live next to the beach or near a river,, somewhere with a fabulous view:D travel loaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaads, :DCharity?? probably the hospice my MIL was in:) buy my mam and dad a bungalow so my mam or anyone for that matter could take my dad out in his wheelchair,,, too many steps at their house:-3

Retire, make sure everyone in the family has enough money to do what they want , travel, donate to charity, travel, invest some in ??, travel, buy a nice condo for myself on the beach and hire a gardner and housekeeper, travel, buy a mercedes they are so hot looking, travel. :-6:-6

Nah - what would the two of us do with a bigger house?

Possibly get a bigger boat - ours is shy a washing machine that would come in handy for long term cruising and a fifty eight footer would make it easier to fit one.

Probably take six months out to do some long term cruising - possibly even retire.

My wife would certainly do some serious travelling - last count she still had over a hundred countries to visit :wah:

So where does that leave us? Clear the mortgage for us and the four kids, new boat, summers on the boat cruising, winters travelling - sorted really :-6

I'm cool with the boat idea...have no idea how to operate one except those small ones where you take them out into the bay and go crabbing, etc.

It's the best relaxation ever invented and you'd pick it up so quickly you'd soon feel you'd always been doing it.

I'd love to learn about boating. My brother did it for years, commercial fishing, etc. Was co captain on loads of boats. Now he's a writer.

I would without a shadow of a doubt open an animal sanctuary and go and buy donkeys/ponys/horses from Auctions where there destiny would be to be eaten.I would also buy other animals that was being bought for the same reason and yes I know I cant buy them all but I would buy what I feel I could.This is only part of what I would do with the money......say a million and got to think about the other 4.

Ok...

I would share out some amongst family, some I would not give money to for fear they would kill themselves with it so id pay off their mortage ect.

Id put 1 mil in a high interest account.

1 million in an account for the kids education/driving lessons/car/university wedding and house, any left over they can do as they please with it.

Id take a trip to Japan to see my niece whom I have never met.

50,000 pounds id use on people with hard luck stories like kids having xmas presents stolen or old ladies and gents being mugged of their pension...Id do it anonymously of course.

We always said if we won the lottery that we would buy a boat and sail round the world for a year or two or three..... I think the kids would get alot out of it and it would be a long geography and history lesson:wah:

Id keep my house because I like it and where it is but id extend and have it re vamped and id pay the mortgage off. While we were sailing round the world id let a family move in for free so they could save money to buy their own pad.

Oh id also buy myself an iphone and other high tech gadgets cos im a sucker for gadgets..

New car too and one for hubs and plough some money into his business..

best for last...Id throw a massive party:-6

Give them each a bit of play money.

Grandchildren would have their slice of heaven.

Our parents & siblings would get a slice as well.

Then I would secretly go around town & drop some suprises into some mailboxes or in at the post office to some people who I think could use a helping hand.

I have 5 families in mind .

There are a few kids I would help out as well.

There's quite a few things I could do with £5M. But I think I would definitely use it to lay the foundations for a complementary therapy and medical centre. It would include a specialist library and accommodation for people to stay while receiving treatment.
