I dont profess to have that knowledge nor have the ability to do so.

What I do have, is the common decency not to discuss my PRIVATE messages on an open forum.

OK folks as the MODERATOR Jimbo contacted I can tell you until he contacts TOMBSTONE DIRECTLY HIS ACCOUNT IS STILL OPEN. Prior to deleting any account it has to be discussed with the member.

So stop the pity party and move on please.

this is not an argument this is my true feelings regarding the fact that FG is too moderated....
If you have a problem with the moderation issues on FG then I suggest you take it up with the owner.

What I dont understand is, how did moderation have anything to do with Jim wanting to leave?

And why did you bring it up?

NO-BODY has discussed private messages here. el guapo started the thread that some-one had upset Jimbo and was asking who it was. I posted that i'd had a pm from him and i knew who it was. Immediately after that, guapo and i exchanged further private messages and he had been told the same by Jimbo as i had. We did merely said we had pm's...... we did not discuss what was in them. If you refer back to my reply to Gill, I did actually say that i thought it would cause a problem to repeat what Jimbo had said to me in his pm's.

I don't know why your getting so nasty with everyone.:thinking:

"Mods", glamorous word for crap cleaners. We clean up the forum of spam, bad language, obscene posts, pictures. Now and again we have to deal with reported posts and sometimes due to those reported posts we have to either warn or infract the member/members. The reported posts are by the members themselves, if you didn't report them we wouldn't be acting on them.

Remember this the next time you may receive an infraction. That another member or members reported your post as it offended them, not because a mod decided it was your turn.

Tombstone owns this forum, he asks us to help him keep it tidy, were all happy to do so. If you dont like it, go elsewhere as we are not.

No you haven't. We don't have receipt of any reported posts by yourself in the mod forum. If you have sent a complaint via the contact us button, that has nothing to do with the mods, it goes straight to Tombstone. If he responds to it, it will be via email to your own personal email address you signed up to FG with. Be warned, Tombstone is a very busy man and leaves the day to day running of the forum to us mods, that's why their is so many, different time zones and not all mods are active at one time.

Funny this should come up about the pm's.

No mod can read any pm's other then their own.

I was talking about this last week & contacted TS & asked the same question about pm's.

So in short, no, mods cannot read pm's:-6

Jester I will answer your question some days and nights there may be only 2 MODS about. I have been here when it just me and so have others. We make decisions as they come to us. We do post it for all MODS to read but if it is something that need to be taken care we move forward and do what is needed. I have waited many times till more MODS are on the board before I act on any thing. With the exception of Spammers which we move on immediately or they can as you know make a game of it. ;)

Betty, I must ask then, how many mods do you have ot have to make it unanimous? Theres what? 18 or so mods? If you have to wait till all 18 weigh in and decide that just doesn't seem very practical, and when I have reported posts, I know every mod didn't possible have time to make a decision when I was brought back with an answer.

I would really like an explaination to this, and I'm not meaning to make trouble, but I think it sure is important to Themis' comments.
I'm assuming you just want an answer. If it was BB specifically you wanted to hear from, I apologize.

We don't seek a unanimous decision to NOT take an action.:wah:

We don't seek a unanimous decision to weed out porn or spam..after all, if it's quacking like a duck, some pervert is diddling it most likely..

There are times of day when it seems no one is around. I don't mind waiting. There are definitely different points of view to be had. And when the folks that have shown up during the discussion have hashed it out, we act or not, as a united front.

There are understanding and gentle mods. There are funny and fluffy mods. There are logical and reasoning mods...

And then there is me. Surprisingly enough, finese is not my middle name...:p

But I enjoy watching us work as a team, all these differing personalities... it's definitely an interesting crew..:D:-4
I expressly forbid the use of any of my posts anywhere outside of FG (with the exception of the incredibly witty 'get a room already' )posted recently.

That in its own right would surely tend either to produce decisions which the others can all live with or to self-correct by a change of team composition.
