It is still snowing, but I shovelled off the porch and driveway. Very pretty snow, lots of big snowflakes blowing in a strong wind.

I can't believe it. My neighbor next door shovelled me out. He shovelled all around my house, my stoop, my car, walking path and a path to pull my car out.

WOW......:-4:-6I always have nice men living in this rental home next to me. I will thank him and buy a nice gift cert to a popular restaurant in town. That was so nice of him to do;)

I know, I can't believe he did that. I was all set to get dressed to start shovelling...and NOW I have to go back to bed with a big mug of coffee.

HUMMMMMMM.... wonder who I could get someone to make me brekke....rashers with maple syrup, brekke sausages, scrambled eggs and homemade bread sounds good. Maybe Nomad could cyber something over. He seems to have a lot of time this morning setting up chores for you to do;)

Goodness, you all are getting pounded. Hope if you you go out you are careful. Not that you don't know how to drive, it is the other drivers that have no clue as to how to drive in snow.

Time off? Take some time for yourselves. House chores can wait. Read, watch a good movie, whatever, just enjoy.

That sounds good Sunshine....I will be relaxing today for sure. Plus, I hate to drive in the snow. Ever since I moved to the shore, we rarely have much snow except for a Noreastern like this one. I forgot how to drive in snow:-5

6" for us and just enough to mess up traffic. Kids are all off and we got the call last night. We went out to Applebee's around 5ish and walked out into the snow just coming down lightly.

I've just spent the last 2 hours getting ready for school tomorrow. I had to catch up on bits and pieces.

My neighbor next door shovelled me out this morning....man, wasn't he sweet, and the plows backed my car in again with tons of snow and ice.

It took me forever to rock the car back and forth to get over the ice.

It's finally out and warming up. I kept checking my phone to see if I got a call saying that we have a delay for tomorrow and no call was forthcoming:(

So, I'm getting ready for bed and decided to check my school email. Low and behold....there's a message that my district is closed tomorrow. It seems that my phone was not in its cradle and 2 of my friends have been calling me since 5 to let me know school is closed:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

Wooooohoooooo....our snow dance worked, didn't it......

Sorry for the long story....I'm so excited......:wah::p:D:rolleyes:

:wah: I measured 10" of snow in my yard. I'm going to Klees for lunch tomorrow....I'll walk over since there's no place to park if I take my car:wah:

No, I only have a two hour delay. If they call the day off, it will be at 8:30, after they check the streets for the buses. But I hope they call it, the streets are not nice to drive on. We got about 7-8 inches here.

A 2 hour delay means that your school opens 2 hours later so you can get your car shovelled out and your local roads will be a bit safer to drive on...If your school normally opens at 7 AM, then you have until 9 AM to get there.

At one time, my school district never closed. We always had a 90 minute delay. Now, we have some nasty ice storms and a big noreastern once in a bit. So, our district is wiser now and will make a decision earlier to just close the schools. They usually let us know the night before or at least by 4 or 5 AM that our schools will be closed.

Our school made the wise decision to call the night before:wah: plus a 2 hour delay the next day. Bagged the day and let them stay home. Shhhh, hubs thinks they went to school.
