on one of our major highways, the 400, this guy was clocked doing 250KM and only had his car impounded for a week?
..I would have made it for a year.
6 demerit points? make it 6 months unable to drive!

Police have charged a driver with stunt driving after stopping a car reportedly clocked at about 250 kilometres an hour.
The high-performance Infiniti was stopped early today as it flew down the southbound lanes of Hwy. 400 in north-end Toronto.
Ontario Provincial Police Const. Scott Mulville says he has “never heard of a speed this high ... nothing in the range of 250 ... it’s a pretty fast driver.”
Mulville adds, “there’s no excuse for that kind of speed.”
The vehicle was impounded for a week under the province’s street racing legislation and the driver faces a fine of up to $2,000.
The unidentified driver also faces six demerit points and will appear in court next month.

You mean the 400 was actually moving??? That is even more amazing.
What will kill him is not so much the 6 month ban, or the $2,000 fine, but when he goes and tries to get insurance for his car. It will either be impossible or will cost more than the car itself.
