or

Say like: "it's great that you can still get a smooth shave over those double chins!

Those remarks are not compliments at all. They are just utterances from a smart-a$$ trying to be funny.

I believe there is always something trully complimentary you can say about anybody.

I've been on the receiving end of a few of those type comments and i'd rather have no compliment at all!

one of my relatives favorite is "you look so pretty I didn't even recognize you!" :-5:-5

I have an:yh_loser uncle that has a butt load of those rude comments that he thinks are cute :rolleyes: ways to compliment a woman. he's in his 80's and has been that way all my life. needless to say him and I have never gotten along. When he throws one of his cute saying out I throw back a really rude statement and so he thinks I'm just not very 'lady like' :yh_cry

It's a shame that you never told him how those comments really made you feel. Instead of a rude comback to him. He might have thought that he was just being clever, instead of that he was insulting you. However, if you think he knew he was insulting you & just didn't care, well then that's a different story, he's just a looser! :wah:
