Ridiculous

Post by AussiePam »

I was roving out this morning minding my own business when I bumped into Theia and had thoughts about thoughts. Just sort of ridiculous thoughts, in an alienated kind of flowers-in-the-desert way. Betty Boop would understand - there is an inherent nuance of surreal ridiculosity in the beauty of a brown cardi. The very non politicalness of its spirituality. The unlikeliness of linking the mossy reclining figure in those mystical gardens in Cornwall with the seabreezes blowing up a gale in the tree outside my stormy window. :sneaky:

There's a limerick just hovering on edge of the blonde subconscious single neuron. I might take it off to the gym. My daughter is about to start a road trip. But first - we shall check out the treadmill of life then drink coffee together.

Yes, Pam, I'm right there with you.... question is, where's Theia

Oh well, pour me a large coffee girl, I'm stepping off my treadmill for a few seconds. :)

:) Hello, Ladies!

Yes, on the outside we may look ordinary, but on the inside we all have special souls. ;)

Speak for yourself AFTR! I for one look just as goddess like on the outside as I do on the inside... :D

The treadmill of life cast me briefly into the vortex, BettyB - or at least it cast my iPod down when I started flinging my arms merrily around in flying motion - in time to Born to Be Wild playing at the time on the said iPod.

AFTR will know exactly what I mean when I say enough is enough. I did my stretches and Romy and I headed for the local Chinese 'American Nails' franchise and got glammed. Romy has deep sparkling purple toes now, and aqua blue fingernails. My toes are a very dark burnished red gold to match the colour of my eyes when too much fluff gets up my nose.

Where is Theia? Yes that is a very good question. She was here - and has left silvery footprints on the sandy shore of this thread. She'll be back, maybe when the moon is full, and werewolves prowl, and piskies frisk.

Pouring coffee as I type.. and I've ordered in some tea too, for the unenlightened... :sneaky:

Some of us may even inject it, Fuzzy - but you've chosen to walk through the looking glass into this thread - so if you would like a cup of coffee to DRINK - I'd be more than happy to provide that... triple shot dark oily Italian espresso do you???

Well I don't want to appear racist, but gimme a big dark Italian any time.... I wonder if Julius Caesar was big and dark? He allegedly liberated coffee beans from er.. Africa or Asia or maybe Ireland when he defeated them and divided Gaul into three parts.

I heard it wasn't really Veni Vidi Vici - I came, I saw, I conquered - which he flung in the faces of the Roman senate (who had wanted tea) but actually Veni Vidi Ridi - I came, I saw, I laughed*

And so the wonderful word 'Ridiculous' was etymologically begotten. He was laughing at their sorry butt (It. culo)... +

*Yeah yeah - I agree it's rideo, ridere, riSi etc.. but maybe Jules didn't know his Latin grammar

+sorry butt not fuzzy butt, though I suppose a sorry butt could also be fuzzy -

Are we there yet?

To the folkies of Cropredy it's Veni, Vidi, Imbibi - I came I saw I drank - but many people claim that old Jules was boasting about his success with the British ladies and actually said vidi, vici, veni

Good morning Theia!!!

Veni vidi cardi - I came, I saw, I played a few hands of poker and won loads - and with the proceeds I'm taking us on a cruise of the Greek Islands.

It's really nice and warm there now, so no need to bring more than a bikini, knitwear will be superfluous.

Nomad, where cardis are concerned, Betty will stop at nothing. I've been on the receiving end of her cardi schemes, and it's not nice. I could pretend I no longer care, but the hurt continues...

Why don't you girls both bite Nomad - I think he started a thread on this somewhere, so he's actually dying for it. In fact, maybe he'll pay me a commission for arranging the bitings????

(Now no drinking his blood, mind you!!!! Just small nibbles. We have enough caped undead in here as it is.... ahhh the children of the night what sweet music they make and all that jazz)

This is a time for us to rally around Theia Pam. She needs us now. Betty has put her into a dark dark place.

No, no, Nomad!! That's just the wine cellar she's locked in - and I'm just about to go in and help her get over her hurt - and I've got a lamp and corkscrew...

I actually listened to a bit of that, Nomad and wondered if I'd stumbled somehow into the land of Oz (as in the Wizard, not Down Under where I already am...) - Up with People. But people - as a whole - are not a very nice species... I'm an alien, so can say this...
