Do you talk to your pets like a person?

Post by Oscar Namechange »

It dawned on me today that i must do.

Most times i fill the bath ready for a long soak, the real Oscar, my beautiful persian jumps onto the side of the bath.

I have often said to him, as you do, 'You'll slip in there one day'.

Well today he did :yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

I've told him 'It's your own fault, I've warned you time and time again'.

Then i realised what i was doing :thinking:

Yes, some of the people here in FL especially, ride their little doggies in a "baby stroller!" Some even have a blanket over the doggies.

Yesterday, we were in a upscale department store here (Macy's) and along comes a woman that had her "2" little doggies in a stroller. They were barking, & barking all the way, and she is saying to them real loud, you know if you keep this up & don't stop being bad, we're just going to have to go home! Everyone all around couldn't help but to keep looking her! (And them!) :wah:

The other day i found myself saying to the puppy.... 'What are you doing'? I'd be rich if she'd told me :wah:

They aren't people? :-2

If I am mad at the other half, I know he'll tune me out. I talk to the animals about him and he listens to every word. :yh_rotfl

Oh, that is great! :wah:

Of course I talk to the critters, they talk more to me than the hubby can.....he chases Won Ton around and tells him "no" when he is doing something wrong. Won Ton of course ignores him, and whines to me.

Sometimes :wah:

They know around 15 - 20 one word commands and they understand tone of voice and whatever energy i'm projecting at the time so i think its pretty fair to say they have a rough idea about where i'm at. The more i'm around dogs the more i prefer them to people tbh :lips:

My cat Pippin used to do that, she'd perch on the side of the bath and we'd have a chat. We both used to escape to the bathroom for some peace. She always dangled her tail in and I'd laugh at her flicking the water off it. Pippin fell in on more than one occasion though :wah:

ALOHA!!

MOTTO TO LIVE BY:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

WOO HOO!!, what a ride!!!"

We have three dogs but as far as i'm concerned they all know exactly what I'm saying. :wah:

Im sure my dog knows what I'm sayin, the little thing knows when Im feeling ill too, back when I had my BP problem I noticed shes was particularly clingy, and if I tried ot get up out of bed alone she'd bark and get my wife- it was liek she knew I wasnt safe to get up alone- if she can figure that out, I know she understand the deeper things of life when I explain it to her!

Empathic them little things are.

Of course I hope some of them learn where not to drop a dogbomb- :wah:

There is no doubt that they know when your ill. Or in the wife's case, in a mood.

The pup hasn't got it as much as the older two but they certainly become clingy when your feeling ill. In Julie's case more than myself. If she's really ill, there's a power struggle in the house. The male gets extremely dominent and we have to have 'words'.

What breed do you have Jester?

I'm with ya, stomp and stomp fast! :yh_rotfl The wife will pick mice up in her hands, take them for a walk and release them back into the community. Rats as well. She has no fear of any rodent. Infact, if she had her way, they would all be living in the house.

Of course, I have conversations with my Scrappy all day long. Infact during play he talks back..I will try and record it one day.

Sometimes on our walkies I play hide and seek with him and once I was laughing hysterically at him as he stopped running so fast his back legs sort of went over his head and this couple appeared, took one look me this mad woman and off they went, no hello or doggy bum sniffs...:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

I once saw a woman walking her cat on a leash. Very weird. Oh yes cats are smart...my mum's cats think taking down Christmas ornaments are fun. But at the same time they are annoying...digging up the garden and having little cat fights at nighttime and right on the side of my house! All you have to do is say "boo" and they scatter.:wah:
