I hope this is unrelated to the army barracks killings.

Oh, I am afraid you can be assured that they are certainly linked, I would expect that they will be some more killings now, as loyalist paramilitaries will see the attack on the policeman as a direct assault on the local Unionist community, in a way that the attack on the soliders wasn't.
I hate to say it, but I won't be surprised if some innocent Catholic is murdered by some splinter group from the UFF or UDA by the end of the week. In reprisal for the deaths of the young soliders and the PSNI man. That will be exactly what the R-IRA want. Its all very familiar and very depressing.
Thats 3 people dead in 3 days, and more injured, its still nothing like the situation that pertained in the past, but its crucial that all sides involved in the peace process now bring this situation back from the brink and not allow dissident republicans undermine all the progress that has been made.

I am praying that this doesn't escalate, but local feelings are going to be enraged by this behaviour as you suggest.
Someone's paying for this to happen and they're the ones who need to be taken out.

Or dissident loyalists come to that. I think it's a moot point which is the most vicious of the two.

Dreadful news...I hope this can be stopped before it escalates. I don't know how that can be done. All the trouble you have endured over the years and finally it felt like peace was restored to NI and now it feels like its starting again. You must all be devastated and wondering what's coming next.
