Whats With Some People?

Went shopping today and i had one shopping cart and my mom had another, she hadn't bought anything but a tube of toothpaste at the time, but she parked her cart to walk outside the door of the store to look at some fruit trees, i was a little distance away, Jacob wanted to see the flowers, i happen to look over and this couple comes strolling by, looks over in my moms cart, takes the toothpaste out of it and lays it over on a shelf, and steals the cart!!! :-5:-5

They probably figured that anyone needing a shopping cart just to buy tooth paste must have died and left the cart.:yh_rotfl

They may have figured the person left the toothpaste behind in the cart. I know hon, I've done it before myself.

A misperception that does happen. Sorry if your mom was inconvenienced. I don't believe most people are mean-spirited.

well if it was me i would think maybe they just hadn't finished shopping yet!:D

besides she only left the cart for a minute! she couldn't take it outside the store with the toothpaste in it because she hadn't paid for it yet.

yeah i would think that too if the cart was outside the store maybe, but this one was still inside, but i guess they could have thought that, but its just weird to me because i would assume that a cart with anything in it was probably being used by someone.

but maybe thats just me!

it wasn't an incovenience, we doubled up and used the same cart, it was just really weird standing there and watching them take off with the cart!

some people would have probably yelled at them or something but i don't think it was that big a deal!

Hope I actually do find that extremely rude. why not just go to the trolley line and get one? I could imgine how I would feel if I walked off to the meat department and came back to find no trolley. some people just don't think.

because the cart was just there......they probably thought no one was using it.

I do all the shopping in our house and I have had run-in's with similar people three times this week. I thought it was the British public. People are rude, greedy and arrogant with little thought for others these days. Worse, they act like this infront of children and set an example. I like the quiet life so i say little to these people.

They never notice until they get to the checkout. If they ram me with their cart, again when they are not looking, I take their cart off and dump it two aisles away. :wah:

How long do you take at the store? You could be gone for hours except on the weekend where it's usually packed.:wah: Which would probs make it easier to throw in a few goodies into someone else's cart:wah:

:wah: Yes, we have those stupid carts, but the blessing is you usually meet someone who is waiting for the cart while you unload it. So nice of them to stalk me for a freekin cart:wah:, the probs really want my parking spot. Oh, I've never been caught throwing other things in (I did it a few times, lol). Maybe I should move into the meat dept. and throw good cuts of beef in next time, the expensive ones, but I was thinking if a man is shopping I should really get gross and throw maxi pads/tampons in:wah:.

It has been known when it's very busy to be stalked by a mad person wanting your cart. They try thrusting a £1 coin at you before you've even loaded up. It's then that i pretend i'm Polish and don't understand what they are saying. You see what Oscar misses? She could have such fun!

I'm off for some rest now Duckie. It's been lovely talking to you whiling away the late hours here in England. Oscar will be away for a few days soon for her big race. I understand she is putting a bet on a horse for you? Between you and I, if the tip off has come from her brother, it's rarely wrong. If it's the same one she has backed, it should win. Yes, she is betting a horse for me. How exciting! A birthday gift on my end:-4. Very thoughtful of Oscar....I know she can be very serious about things on the FG but I see the funny side of her.

we have had people to make off with our carts before but it was before we had actually put anything in them, but for someone to actually take something out of a cart in order to make off with it, is a new one on me!

We have mini carts here for small shopping and they are elusive. In order to secure the cart I hit the produce section first and put my veggies in. And the best part is Quin likes to climb into the bottom of the cart:wah: so that makes it even more secure.
