I thought our cat was going to die a month ago. Shes 18 blind, always been a runt. Shes always weighed about 4 lbs.

She could barely stand, she was wobbly and I thought any day now.

My wife got special food from the vet for surgery after care. She devours the food like a crazy kitty. Cant get enough. Plus Ill mix in baby food, turkey chicken like a gravy. Shes doubled her weight and shes doing things she hasnt done for a long time.

Give it a shot.

Oscar is grooming her as well and that's a sure sign of illness. If she's suffering, I will do the decent thing but i will have to get a newbie as a companion for Oscar. There is plenty in persian rescue that need homing sadly.

Give it a shot. Thanks Brian.... she is already fed a tinned food for senior cats and she has boiled chicken mixed in but she's gone off that. her breathing is laboured as well. Just hope the vet say's it's a cold or something.

Her last cats were Chancellor found on a Philly street and named for it. Than Watson & Folly. Watson was the coolest cat she owned and he went everywhere...all the kiddies in the neighborhood loved him. I have loads of pix with my kids & that cat. Yeah, we still miss him. In the summer she would have him shaved and he looked like Simba from the Lion King.:-4

She was so matted when we got her once she had got the fluid off her lungs from cat flu, they had to put her right under and shave her completely. She was skin and bone underneath. The owner was prosecuted and she is banned from keeping animals for 10 years.

I love the names. I lost 'Tandy' about six months ago. he was 18 yrs old. I don't want to go further but the yobs in my trial took him from my garden and killed him with a hammer. Pete found him tossed in a near by field. The police investigated and know it was them but just can't prove it to prosecute. We are still heartbroken. I rescued him at 2 yrs old and had him for 16 yrs. My fault, i turned by back for 10 minutes. I didn't keep him safe.

My mom got her cats from a group that rescues cats. Her cats have always been abandoned in early life or from my SIL who had 5 at one time and finally got them spayed. The last two came from an animal rights group who takes in unwanted kitties. she never goes to the SPCA to get cats...I have a friend across the road who takes in loads of cats...but that is another story.

I dont bug her for her food.:mad: :wah: That's what i say..... HEY, I don't eat yours!!!! Nomie, have you heard of a Bengal? They are bred from Asian Ocelots and are 4 times the size of a domestic. Here, a kitten will cost you approx £2,000 to £4,000. I took two of these brutes when i took peanut. What a feckin nightmare? Sooooo aggressive. I couldn't possibly keep them, they were attacking the dogs.

..:: The Bengal cat - a beginner's introduction ::..

I re-homed the brutes with specialists once they were well. Couldn't wait to see the back of them :mad:

We had two different autopsy's on him and the hole in his head was a perfect circle. Also, when cars hit a cat they don't toss them in the middle of the field.

The vet has been. She had a quick listen to her chest and she thinks there is fluid on there. I have to take her tomorrow for an x ray as she can't tell if it's just an infection without seeing. I'll try to get some food in her later.

Im familiar with them. You were wise to deflect them to a proper habitat.

Theyre not fit for domestication.

Now that I think about it neither are you.

Now that I think about it neither are you. :yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl The two i had were males. OMG..... One stood 13 inches high. They did not have fur but a pelt. It was just like having two leopards in the house. You can't let them out incase they get stolen. They went to good homes with the people who know the breed. By the way, they eat their babie's when born. Then you want to try getting medication down their throats.

I'm house trained Nomad, i have my own dirt box..:yh_rotfl
