Gone Gray
This year in honor of my birthday, I threw in the last towel, and decided to let my hair go gray. Or whatever color it is, as I havent seen the real color in about 25 years. It was very liberating for many reasons. Firstly, its like I now accept the age I am, and its fine with me. The other reasons have been building for years. Salons dont get the color correct. The sun always turn my hair orange. The color only lasts about 4 weeks now. Dying it yourself with a box, is a nightmare. The hair color, permanent or semi permanent, makes my hair feel like clay. And last but not least is the cost. Salons have gotten completely carried away with themselves, often charging as much as 130.00 for color with a few of those stupid highlights. My hair is not as gray as I thought it would be, although I do have silver ear muffs over bth of my ears. Despite this, I am very happy as my hair finally feels like real hair, it isnt orange, and I dont have to wrap my head in a scarf this gardening season to keep the orange away.
My new acceptance of my age actually started with defiance about a year ago. I came into the house, and ripped off my uncomfortable, strangulating bra. Threw it on the floor, and decided I wasnt wearing one ever again.
I realized for what? If I dont want to I dont have to. A lifetime of those torturous devices riding up and moving around, and choking my back. I have switched to those sports type little halter things, to be polite. They are very comfortable. I also dont wear shoes with heels, or anything with spandex in it. Some days, I dont wear underwear either. It depends on what kind of mood Im in. So finally at 57 I am free to be me. And its not so much showing the world to take me as I am. Its me liking me as I am. A great relief, and a very powerful feeling.

Some of the world's most beautiful women sport their gray hair.
Gone Gray
I gave up colouring my hair about 6 years ago.....high heels about 10 years ago although I do 'concede' for weddings etc....
Still wear a bra though Weeder !
You can still look feminine even when you're in your 60s.....I'll be 63 this year. I wear necklaces and scarves for 'decoration'. The other thing I gave up was wearing skirts (except for special occasions)...it's so much easier to wear trousers and there are so many different kinds both casual and smart....
Go Girl.....be yourself :-6

Yup.... There are many women with beautiful gray hair. Julie Christie.....
I thought of shaving my head also. Didnt have the courage. But I have been cutting it since November to get the color out. I am just about there.....

So at 57 you have decided to morph into a 85 year old women and frumpy as well? Com'n act your age, keep your hair its true unnatural color and your boobs perky in the wind (not that I know anything about that stuff, but were you wearing the right bra size?) :wah:. Don't give up we have the tools to look young forever. As for the underwear that's your call and more info than we need, I say go for it, just be careful if you are hauled into a police station and interrogated.

I dye my own hair at home...$6.00........I buy whatever is on sale at Wal-Mart, as they all have the same stuff in them.
just stick to the same colour, deep beige blonde and I'm done!:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

Not there on gray yet. Just mousey brown. As for my daughter, I have no idea what her real hair color is...she dyes it constantly but in the summer time when she's at the beach her hair becomes sort of a mix of blond, brown with red highlights.:-4 It's very pretty.

good for you weeder! :-6
I've always played with my hair color, I think I'll be a lifelong blond! :p but I don't wear high heels or regular bras (or boobie holders as my 5 year old calls them...)either.

Good for you Weeder my sister (60) , and I (61) were talking about these very same issue this weekend as we spent 5 hours trying to find comfortable BRA'S. There aren't any and they cost way to much. She had just spent $115.00 on a cut and color she is a blonde with lots of gray, it looks great but doesn't last. I'm a brunette and only color the gray strip on the top of my head myself once a month. But I have been seriously thinking its time to stop that as well just to much work. Like you said make your hair feel like sponges. Heels gave them up long ago opting for BORNS which are so comfortable and very cute styles these days. I have to run around at work and heels just not an option.

I've been wearing sports bras since my early twenties, they're so comfy! I get the cute ones in different colors with the thin straps, not those industrial sports bras that you can run a marathon in!

I'm no Dolly Parton, but I feel better wearing a bra for support. I'm with Odie, though, I'd like to find one that is 100% comfortable.
I don't worry about keeping up with the latest style anymore. I wear what I like and what is flattering to ME.

I know for sure... having lived A LOT.. that young is on the inside anyway.
I come across some pretty frumpy 42 year olds, with dyed hair. So Quinn,
you don't know nothin about this subject. Thanks for responding though..
I love my hair now. It feels like hair instead of dog fur. Still brown with great silver streaks like along for the ride said.........

Whats a common pervert supposed to do with this information ?
There are rules and regulations, strict codes of ethics that must be adhered to and you just whip your bra and panties off and were supposed to do what ?

I know that the changes have not altered my appeal one bit since a 77 year old man, with HUGE dentures just asked me out yesterday. That would be the first offer Ive had for a date since that summer in St. Simons. Remember the guy with the nose hairs, who was legally blind, drove the golf cart, and became a stalker?
