Well I think we've had whatever snow we're going to have this season. We always seem to miss the snows in the Midlands ! Praps it's just as well really, as we are still without our central heating grrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Getting used to it now though ! Also the costs are down consequently, which is a good thing for us ! :-6 :)

That's a lot of snow (by England standards !) ! That will take a day or two to clear away won't it ???? Try to keep in the warm Kathy, no point in risking getting ill ! Hope you have provisions enough so you don't have to travel out on the slippery roads ! It's raining here at the moment, and blowing quite windy so won't be very comfortable outside, and I certainly don't intend to venture out - Chris will, though, to take our German Shepherd for a good walk, don't worry, he always wraps up well!! :-6 (would be nice to see the sun !) :) :-4

Yes, sometime in April. Got to find £400 from somewhere though, as the grant falls short of the actual cost! So it may be later than that !!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrr :( Still, as I say, we are getting used to it now - thank goodness we haven't had the snow that you have had !

It's been about 6 weeks so far - the wait !

Hope everybody is OK and having a good day. It's been lovely and sunny today here, but there was a flurry of snow while hubs was out walking the dog, but didn't last - I think they're called lambing storms ! (around the lambing time of the year).

You may want to take some shears to those lambs and get their coats to help you keep warm.:wah: Lambskin is so nice. Once had a lambskin crib sheet which was cool in the summer but warm in the winter. The elastic finally gave out.....:-5

Gawd I've been so busy, and the PC has been used by somebody else - very hectic at the moment, but maybe that is just as well really. I've lost inspiration, at the moment, to post an interesting anecdote of some happening in my life. Maybe I'll feel more inclined to post one tomorrow. That's the trouble with artistic people like me.............. you've just got to be in the mood !!! ;) :yh_rotfl

Well hello everybody ! ................................... hope your day has been good. It was quite sunny here until mid-afternoon, when it clouded over with rather dark clouds and we thought we were going to get quite a downpour. It never happened, but I'm sure somebody got some water on them ! :-3

My two fellas have gone to play snooker this evening, so I have some ME time :D

I have contributed in the mod. forum, and I've posted on some threads, so now I think I'll watch a bit of TV and maybe have a game in the Arcade !

I'm not entirely alone, by the way............. I have the company of my gorgeous Rex!

Bless you Heather, please don't overdo it ! Even though hols are only 4 weeks away, you don't want to exhaust yourself so you are ill for your hols! You are obviously enjoying the challenge, and I admire you for wanting to learn more so you can help your kiddies better than before. Power to your elbow Heather !!! :-6 ;) :)

I think the main reason that I don't stay in pj's all day is because we have had trouble in the past from yobs and gangs of feral youths mooching around outside, looking for mischief! So we have always been dressed for 'going outside' should the need arise, with our dog to persuade them to go elsewhere ;)

I think, since people have got to know that we have a German Shepherd at the house, plus CCTV, the idiots are leaving this area alone, particularly as we are prepared to go out to them (armed and dangerous :wah:) I am touching wood of course, when I say all this LOL, but it has been very pleasantly quiet for some weeks now !:-6 :)

Hi Odie ! Good to see you Mrs ! Gotta wait till we can collect about £400 to make up the shortfall of the grant, before we can tell them to go ahead with the work ! Gawd knows when that will be ! Makes me wonder if they ever wonder why people apply for grants for such work! Maybe it's because they just haven't got the money to do the work out of their own pockets !!!! :-2

Hope all is OK with you and yours, and it's good that the weather is getting a little warmer now ! :-6 :wah:

We went to the Vale of Belvoir yesterday. BBC TV were filming for a programme called Countryfile, which goes out nationally on Sundays. My hubby Chris was being interviewed by John Craven (presenter) about the Grantham Canal. This will be going out next Sunday 22nd March in the programme Countryfile which starts at 11 am and runs for 1 hour. Chris's spot will be after the Weather Forecast for the week at about 11.45 am. He is the Vice President of the Grantham Canal Society.

I took a few photos of John Craven preparing to do the interview at Musson Gorse on the Grantham Canal. John Craven is the one with very white hair, Chris has his back to the camera, the producer is standing to the left of the picture.

Yup, same here Odie. Peco is not allowed to turn the heat off in the winter. Jeez, I just paid their bill...out the nose. They are very expensive and I try not to run the central air too much in the summer...drives hubs nuts but hey the heat is cheaper than the c/a.

heating is cheaper than a/c, your right, but with Mike sleeping days.....he needs

it on all day.........late at night I shut it off and use the ceiling fan.

this months electric bill was 184.00:-5:-5

we don't keep lights on, just one in the living room.

laundry........twice a week

stove.......is gas

and its set at 69........problem is, this house has no insulation left, so the furnace comes on quite a bit.

I have ceiling fans in every room plus our house faces the southeast and we get that breeze. Stove is also gas but I mainly use the grill in the summer. YOu don't even want to know what I paid to Peco. I always shut the lights off too.

Well Odie and Ducky, you're paying much the same as me. Whilst we've not had central heating or gas cooking, there has been a very noticable drop in the cost! So in that respect I am happy (well a bit less stressed anyway). Hubby was suggesting we don't bother with central heating, as we have managed without, all through the coldest part of winter. We just put more clothes on ! :) ;)
