A Close Call?

Post by Hope6 »

Was in town shopping today and decided to go throught the drive-thru and grab a little something to eat instead of going in. We parked in the parking lot of a nearby store and J was eating his fries and chicken nuggets before we got out to go in. These 2 guys come out of the store and get into the car parked next to us, the guy who got in the drivers side swung his down around kinda hard and hit the side of our car.

That kind of thing happens all the time i'm sure, but the strange thing was that he left the door open, up aganist my car, got into the driver's seat and just sat there!

So now I'm kinda freaking out wondering what is he up too?

I know a first instinct is to get out and see what was done to the car, but with these guys acting funny, i thought to myself, I'm staying in the car, so we sat there. Finally after a few minutes he closed the door, cranked the car and started to pull out of the parking space, i thought good they're leaving, but they didn't, they just pulled up even with us and sat there looking at us!

I have heard of people who will do a little something to your car on purpose just to get you out of it, then they rob you or steal the car or something, so i decided i still wouldn't get out the car, so i never looked directly at them, and just acted like i didn't see them, and finally they drove away!

Hope

I'm glad you & your family are safe

Desperate times bring desperate scary scenario's..

today in the news - a man robbed a" GOOD - WILL Store"..!! that's desperate.

Good-Will is a store, hire needy & $$ funds do go back into the community, all merchandise sold is used.

we all need to be more cautious.

good job Hope

no I didn't call the cops because I couldn't see any damage to the car, and other than just sitting there and not leaving, there wasn't much else I could report that they did, I figured it wouldn't do any good to report it anyway.

Clear thinking.

My clear thinking would have been done in retrospect, probably from the confines of a jail cell.

Our TV stations were reporting on this last night and advised all women to not go to Walmart last night.

I would have been scared too Hope. You did the right thing. Gut instinct tells you what to do plus you had Jacob with you. I hope you locked the doors to your car too out or precaution. But on the other hand, I would have lowered the window just enough to scream at the arsehole and threaten to call 911.

After looking at my original answer to your question, I think maybe just picking up your cell phone and looking at those creeps could have sent a very powerful message also. Don't roll the window down. I don't shop Walmart.
