Whats With Some Men Anyway?

Got a phone call the other day, it was a man asking when he could come by and inspect our tobacco barns. They like to check out the burners every once and a while to make sure nothing is getting into the tobacco that isn't supposed to be there, He asked when would be a good time to meet with my husband. I replied that with my husbands schedule working and going to school, that there wouldn't be a good time, if he needed to meet with somebody, it would have to be me. His reply was, ummm.........do you know how to turn on the barn? :-5:-5........I just kinda laughed and said well........I've done it before!

We have a couple of tractors that use diesal instead of gas, we ran out in the tank we have here on the farm so i took a gas can and went to the nearby gas station to get some, i put the can in the back of the pickup, I was at the diesal pump, when I notice the man looking at me, he comes over and says, uh...you know that truck doesn't take diesal, don't you? it uses regular gas! :-5:-5

I replied oh I know, I'm not putting it in the truck, I'm putting it in the can! but thank you anyway!

A couple of years ago my wife went to buy a car from a saleman we had used before. She picked out the car and asked what kind of price she was going to get. The salesman responde "I'll call your husband and work out all of the details with him". She told him " be sure to tell my husband that I decide to go to a different dealership where their salesmen are not chauvinistic assholes." The salesman called me wondering what the hell just happened and I laughed my ass of and told him if he cant figure it out he was screwed for years to come.

yeah i think the guy at the gas station was just trying to help, but i can't help but wonder if he would have done the same thing if i had been a man.

as for the guy about the barn i guess i'm just so used to doing stuff around the farm that women don't usually do that it takes me back a little when someone asks something like that.

I'd mention it too, if I saw someone (either sex) doing that, just in case. It could be an expensive mistake, or someone doing just what you were doing!

You Have A Good Point It Could Have Gone Both Ways . And You Did The Right Thing And Didn't Get All Been Out Of Shape , Some Women Would Have Took It For And Insult , Knowing You Can Carry Your Own / Stand On You Own , Says A Lot About You , Tell Your Husband I Said He Has A Real Woman / Lady . Oh Yes They're Some Men Who Can Act Like An A$$$ .

Not to excuse the men, but these are men in rural South... :p

Anyway, I grew up with some very strong, intelligent women in my family so it would never occur to a man like me that women aren't fully capable of doing anything at all. I'm a gentleman and still believe in chivalry, however.

yes I agree, i can understand that one, it just seemed at the moment that he was doing it because i was a woman, either way he had the best intentions i know.

yeah that was nothing to get all bent out of shape about, I certainly wasn't about to insult or embarrass them over it, it just got me to thinking......would they have acted the same if I were a guy.
