"In the book, he writes how before the show, Cowell was irritated at the thought that the Queen might not recognise him. "Later, when the Queen and Prince Philip reached us in the line-up, it was quite clear that neither had a clue who Cowell was," he said."

Pretentious, *him*?

"The claims, however, have infuriated courtiers and bemused Philip, who has told aides he does not know enough about Cowell to be able to insult him."

Sounds like another of the old boy's jokes taken the wrong way - and, as:

"The Brighton-born television impresario, who has become an international star, also claimed on the same show that he had spoken to President Obama about having dinner last week but had been too busy to change his schedule."

I have no sympathy for this ghastly person, and know no reason why he's got this high opinion of himself - does anyone but him share his opinion, I wonder?

I'm with you Bill :wah: I can't stand the sight of the obnoxious ego-inflated ****wit.

Your probably correct that Cowell was more put out that the Royals didn't know who he was. However, If 'Phill' did call him a sponger, that would make my year sp far. :wah:

I recognise him from the picture in "The Daily Express", but I'm not sure from where.

So he thinks he should meet Obama as well? :yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl
