Well I'm so sorry that non-UK folks won't be able to see 'Countryfile' this Sunday, it is a lovely programme, and they cover all sorts of countryside matters, and events.
I am a bit surprised that www. (world wide web) seems to be anything but !!!!
Anyway, just incase you are able to find it I will give you the website:-

Hi Helen, they also filmed Belvoir Castle. I have always thought that castle was a particularly 'fairytale' type castle. :-6

Hi Odie and Ducky, good to see you both! We've got a mixed sort of a day today - sunny periods and when the clouds come over (northerly wind) it chucks a bit of water down, not heavy though. It is not too warm because of the wind, but I don't mind so long as we get a bit of sunshine. Further north (mostly in Scotland) there could be snow, probably near Ben Nevis, which isn't surprising really :wah

Hi G ............ good to see you pop in, and you are most welcome to call by anytime!
It was Mothering Sunday last Sunday, and as we were chatting over a cup of coffee in the morning we noticed two girls of about 9-10 years old, bending over our flower beds in the front garden. Chris, my hubby, nipped out to them (one legged it as soon as she heard the door open!), the other was taken aback as she hadn't realised what was going on. They had picked most of our daffodils and miniature daffodils and all the remaining crocuses !! Chris asked her what she thought she was doing in somebody else's garden, and she said a little embarrassed that it was Mother's day and the flowers were for her mum! I think we have about 6 daffodils left !!!!! :-5:-5:-5
:mad: Good job I didn't go out to her, Chris is much more lenient than I am ! grrrrrrrrrrrr

How cute! Yeah, men are so much nicer than women... I would have casually strolled out there, made small talk... discussed trivia about the flowers... and helped her pick some. :wah: I'm like Robin Williams in What Dreams May Come... you've all seen the movie, right? ... where he catches the little girl drawing on the painting hanging on the wall? Yes, it was cute really............... but they took the flamin lot ! Except half a dozen daffodils that were tucked in a corner that were not so easy to reach!!! Now when I was a child, I nipped to the local park and took a couple of daffodils from each big clump, so it wouldn't be noticed !!!!!!!! :yh_rotfl :sneaky: I suppose I was a bit brighter than those two girls, and I was only about 7 years old at the time

I would agree with you there Gill. I caught the little brat next door pinching off the heads of my daylilies....went out and ripped into him:-5. I wait all year to see these beautiful flowers...I think we ended up with 3 intact. The brat! Well, last summer I told him "don't even go near my daylilies or I'll have your caretaker spank you big time".:wah:

I remember when I had just had my bicycle, I was 10 years old. I went up our road to where there was a meadow, which was full of these tall purple lupin-like wild flowers. I decided that as they were so pretty, I would pick an armfull with plenty of stem, for my mum. :-4 Then I cycled back home, it was only about 1/4 mile, I had an armful of these lovely purple flowers in one arm and my other hand was steering the handlebars and operating the hand break. Well my front wheel caught a loose stone in the road didn't it, and I was thrown over the handlebars and sprawled onto the road, and all the flowers were scattered everywhere !
Gawd, I had an enormous gravel rash on my right knee and similar on my right elbow, and there was blood all over the place - down my leg, down my arm. I was trying not to cry and failing miserably, :-1 and trying to pick up all the flowers, which I just about managed. I limped the rest of the way home, pushing my bike. My mum was pleased to have the flowers but unhapppy that I had come off my bike. I was soon patched up and tears wiped away. The flowers had pride of place in the middle of the hearth in the biggest vase mum could find (the fire wasn't lit at the time LOL). I still have scars on my elbow and my knee, to this day !

YouTube - Talented little boy wow...
Here he is again - Declan Galbraith, a little older.
Isn't it a pity, sometimes, when a boy's voice breaks? Mind you Declan, I think, seems to have made the transition just fine ! This was in May 2008.

Hi Mussy ! I'm doing OK thanks for asking XXX I hope you are too ! :-6
I just love to hear a good boy soprano voice ! Sends shivers down my spine ! But, as I say, it's a shame their voices break. If they aren't sensible whilst it is breaking, they will not retain the qualities of their soprano voice when it changes to a lower register. I have known choir boys who have had really good voices till they broke, and tragically the quality and the accuracy of pitch went. There is something very pure and innocent about a solo boy soprano.

Oh I agree 100% Odie. That kid is almost out of control, and nasty with it. If he's not taken in hand soon, it will be too late and he'll more than likely finish up caged. I suppose police should have been brought in at the time of the assault, but I'm not sure about the 'age of responsibility' in America - could be the lad was under that age at the time, so he wouldn't have had much of a punishment any way. He should have had a sound thrashing on his backside and grounded for a couple of weeks or so, by his parents. Oops, is it illegal over there to physically punish your own children?
I guess Ducky was just trying to avoid an on-going situation, which could have escalated into neighbourhood war ! Mind you, from all accounts, it seems that particular family is not well liked by most of the others in the neighbourhood.

But I will keep your suggestions in mind. Quin will be having the last laugh as he is allowed to go around the corner to other friends houses with Faith. CJ is not allowed to go anywhere off Reni's property unless she walks him somewhere. He has been around the corner with Q's friends before but always comes back cuz they all can't stand him. The other day we were reminiscing, at home, about the various happenings in our lives, and I remembered an incident which was not really funny when it happened, but had to laugh about it later! .....................
Many years ago, Chris and I decided to have a week on the Norfolk Broads. We took my mum along, and our dog called Fred. The boat was a typical Broads cruiser, and was a wooden one with a centre cockpit, 6 berth. A bit like the picture below.
A lot of the time, the weather had been fairly damp, with showers most days, but hey! this is England innit?
We needed to fill up on diesel, so Chris (hubby) pulled over at a waterside service area with a diesel pump, and as we approached the moorings infront of the pump, I stood on the bow holding the line, ready to jump off and make fast. Well as we were about 4 feet away from the side, I took a mighty leap..... my take-off foot slipped on the wet, varnished gunwale and it was as if I hadn't moved.......I hung in mid-air for a moment, realising that I was going for a dip..........realising also that our boat was bearing down on me and could crush me against the hard concrete (I didn't realise at the time, that Chris had banged the boat into reverse and was revving hard to stop the boat). Instinctively I grabbed for the side, my arms outstretched over the top of the concrete hard standing.............my body crashed into the wall............gawd that hurt, but I scrambled as fast as I could to get out of the water (aren't denims restrictive and heavy when they are wet!). I was soaking from my waist down...........I was aware that several helping hands were pulling at my arms, heaving me out of the water - bystanders who had witnessed the whole episode
Of course I was grateful......... I didn't want a 6 berth wooden cruiser crashing into me against the wall ! I still had hold of the line ! So I just carried on and tied the boat to a bollard ............ flippin eck I was in pain on my left hip and ribs !! Then this woman comes trotting out of the waterside shop "Oh I heard somebody fell into the water ! .......... Oh dear I missed it !!!!!! :-5 :-5
When I went to change out of my wet things, I saw there was a massive black bruise which stretched from my left hip to half way up my left rib cage! The pain did gradually decrease over the next 5-6 days but the bruise changed colour during that time - black through all shades till it became a horrible yellow. One advantage, I suppose, was that I was a lady of leisure for the rest of the holiday!
I do think I must have cracked a couple of ribs though - nowt you can do about that really.
Moral of the story ---- Be very careful when jumping off boats, if the sides and deck are likely to be wet ! :yh_rotfl :yh_rotfl
