Everytime one of my relly's died, we did the same thing. You stay awake for hours reminiscing about the good old time, etc. and just drink. It is a way of honoring the passing of the relly.

Yes, I agree. When my grandmom passed on they had a huge party that lasted for hours....they even played a video of her and the stories were really cool. I will never forget it. She was born in 1900 and remembered when the Titantic sunk, went to the movies every Saturday for 5 cents and watched them all day. She once told us grandkids that cars were a rare site on the roads back then.

The latest rage over here is to have a Celebration of Life party, which is what everyone has been doing for ages:rolleyes:. I love it! When my other grandma passed it was another huge party. I also remember my dad telling us that when his grandparents passed on (they were Irish), they had a huge bash with big party, etc., story telling, etc. and most of all laughter.:wah:

I have always felt that memories are blessings. And I feel blessed to have how ever many I have of each loved one that has passed on.

my condolences to you and your family for the loss of your cousin.

Plus it's things you can pass down to your children. The memories, etc. I was telling my kids that cars weren't on the roads back in the 1910's years, that there were no Wawa's or fast food places, etc. Not even tv's, etc.

That'll be another memory to cherish - the last journey done in style.
