Anyone else hear anything? I heard he had a heart attack. Ironic is it not that the protesters did everything in their power to goad the police infront of the mass of media they invited in and when a protester has a heart attack, they beg the police to help him?

It's on the radio news. The police tried resuscitation but he was gone.
Scotland Yard said he had collapsed near the Bank of England and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
City of London police named him as Ian Tomlinson, 47, and said he was on his way home from working at a newsagents at the time.

Very unfortunate what ever his intentions were.

Do you know what was really funny?
Yesterday in the new it showed the ‘rioting’ and rioters breaking through the window of a bank and breaking in.
Then there was another report showing the scene:
There were more reporters and photographers standing around recording the handful of thugs than there were vandals.
If the media put down their camera there would have been enough of them to stop the vandals themselves, but hey that would not be a good news story.

When I watched the rioters or should i say 'rioter' last night on tv, i thought as you did but did you notice as the guy was climbing in the broken window of the bank? There were about 6 rioters to about 30 press :wah:

Who do you think persuaded him to do it?
I wonder how much is cost them?
Good job they'd let the staff go home early.

Yup. I saw that. Lots of telephones and "P&S" cameras held aloft. "That's egging 'em on!" I thought... & "What! Only *two* "demonstraters???".
I re-open that to add that there was a "bloke" with a minor, although colourful, head wound, and a big nose - his picture was all *over* the place. I suspect there's precious little for "reporters" to report.

Given the length of time he was there and the lack of change to the state of his head wound I also suspected that it was a half decent job of make up.
He was certainly doing a good job of deliberately antagonising the police trying to get them to hit him.

Quite enjoyed the French bloke on the Lloyds building.
I think with the whole protest thing, well, I could have popped up for a bit of a yell, but was worried that it was all a bit serious. Didn't know what elements might be there and I'm not a professional protestor. Seemed much more sensible to be somewhere else. Think a lot of people felt like that.
And besides, the Summit appears to have been a success - whether it will achieve all that is hoped for it is perhaps doubtful, but in terms of getting a coherent plan of action out of 20 or so nations it really does seem to have worked.

The crowd: "Yes! We are all individuals!"
Lone voice: "I'm not."

I studied that guy on TV and pics in the papers. I'm convinced that was not blood. It was far to 'pinky' to be blood. I think make-up.
