We were invaded by these crazy little marshmallow people. They didnt really do anything and no one seems to know what they wanted, they just kinda hobbled through and then they were gone !

Welcome back Chris! That's the neat thing about a forum; anything that happened is recorded for all (you) to see. Your adventures are another story! Did you bring pics? Is anything staying in Vegas? :sneaky:

Thanks for the welcome back AC, hope your alright. Yeah I have pics and will look into putting them up soon. Oh and as far as things staying in Vegas go, I'm happy to say that the only things of mine that are staying in Vegas are a pair of socks that forgot to be packed :wah:
The whole trip was brilliant apart from the trip back mind u was the longest I have EVER had. The flight was delayed by 2 hours so I left Vegas at 6pm local time. Then had a 10 hour flight which landed 12pm UK time. Then our dropped off car was somehow 'lost' and had to wait another hour for it.
Then we get caught in the lorry that blew up and closed the M25, which lead to 4 hours to drive 4 miles! But finally we got home at 10pm, a whole 36 hours with no sleep. But apart from that the trip was GREAT.
Best moments were seeing the strip for the 1st time, being at Universal City LA, and looking over the stature that is the Grand Canyon.
Oh and to all US FG members I have to say that all the Americans that we met are the friendliest bunch of people I or my family have met in a long time.
So overall the whole experience was the best I have ever had, even the flight was not so bad (though the food ahem that's a different matter.) Mind u it is very strange being back, but great to be back here amongst friends

Hello Chonsigirl, hope u are well. Yeah I did visit LA and was amazed by the sheer largeness of everything. We only got 1 real day there which was just spent soaking up the atmosphere, but would obviously like to have spent more time there to see all the sights and sounds!

I did thank u Abbey, must say though that I can't get over the difference in weather. You too would understand the difference in weather in the UK today and the scorching heat that we had in Vegas over the last week. I knew it was gonna be hot but man it was like an inferno!!

I know what you mean. My first few nights there I'd go outside for a cool breeze. As if! The wind was so hot, I honestly thought I was standing near a laundry dryer exhaust; even looked for it.

I know the feeling that wind was so hot, it just didn't feel normal. The difference from being outside to being inside a casino or shop is so amense that you actually have to be there to experience it.
My brother was trying to get a tan whilst on holiday, and boy did he get more than that thanks to the heat. He couldn't even spend long periods of time out in the heat, it really is that hot!!

Welcome back Chris, sounds like a grand old time. So when you saw the "opulence" of Las Vegas did it take your breath away. I mean those hotels house some pretty amazing things.
Well I can't wait to see your pics. And glad you had fun. Oooo what was your fave thing/place about Las Vegas?

Hello Minks, good to so you and good to be back. Oh my breath was definately took away when I arrived in Vegas. It really is 1 thing to see a place like Vegas in pictures and on tv but seeing it in real life is another thing.
Best Vegas moment was going on the X-Scream at the Stratosphere. It's the ride where they take you off the side of the tallest building in Vegas and then tip you over the side. Oh my god I can't tell u how worried I was whilst standing in the queue and then getting on the ride. Just being on the Stratosphere and seeing all of Vegas really is a site to behold.
Other good moments were seeing the Fremont Experience in Downtown, and just the general hussle and bussle of all the Vegas hotels and casinos. The Bellagio fountains were amazing as was the Mirage volcano. And seeing the whole atmosphere at night really is a sight to behold - so beautiful all those neon signs.
I really could have nothing bad to say about the place apart from the heat, my very sore feet and the MGM Grand. I hate that hotel, for 1 reason - the size. It takes 25 minutes from 1 side to the other and you have to do that every time you take the monorail. Besides that I had a GREAT time and look forward to my next visit..

I only tried 1 Poker tournament, which cost me $10 and which consisted off 30 people. I came 7th which I was happy with as it was my 1st real game. I was gonna try playing Blackjack but I stuck to watching it, just seemed to big for me. Felt like being a small fish in a big pond.
Oh and notice that u have changed your avatar, any reason y Minks?
