Ah, poor guy. I waited until the last day before his birthday, which is tomorrow. I totted him out in the rain and all, and he came home with an ID card instead. I don't think he knows the difference if it is a real card or what, he dug out his air force papers and other stuff to take, for additional identification. I packed them and took them along, it made him feel secure to do that.

This is sad for you Chonsi but not for him as he doesn't understand what he's lost. Instead of feeling sad, look at him and see how far he's come in the last few years. You probably forget how much progress he's made when you see it little by little every day. You are a tower of strength, you have pulled him through to what he is today when even his doctors held out little hope. You have supported him and encouraged him unfailingly, you have been a complete saint to him by holding on to the love you shared to support you and in turn to support him. Instead of lying in a bed attached to tubes and monitors he went with you today, he walked with you and talked to you and even found the paperwork he needed to help you out. His recovery has been amazing because you have been amazing.
I hope he has a wonderful birthday tomorrow and I hope you both enjoy a really wonderful day. :yh_flower :yh_hugs :-4

Just curious chonsi, did your hubby "want to/ or feel like he could drive"?
If not, maybe he didn't have to give up his license if he didn't even know he had one. On the surface, it just appears that you may have put undo pressure/guilt on yourself! Confused here.

I don't think he knows his ID card is not a license. He keeps looking at it all afternoon. It is a different color, so he knows it is different. I can honestly never tell some things, since he cannot answer me correctly.
And no, he does not feel like driving. He is happy his truck is being driven by #2 son around the place, and kept up nice.
