We've booked a self-catering that takes Pets. The dogs will love running on the coast. I didn't know they had midges. I thought that's what they called the SNP :yh_rotfl

Visiting Scotland? Check The Midge Forecast First

By Susan

Walter the Weather Girl has another set of data to add to her Friday weather reports, after the world's first ever midge forecasting system was launched on Monday. The forecasts cover the whole of Scotland, and let walkers know whether to expect high, medium, or low midge densities. The service comes courtesy of Advanced Pest Solutions (APS), with leading midge specialist Dr Alison Blackwell at its helm.

Scottish midges are the size of small dogs.:wah:

But I know that corner of Scotland. No midge problem. (Or at least there wasn't 20 years ago when I was at Uni there).

It's beautiful. You'll love it.

Don't worry. I left Fife years ago and now live in a top secret location somewhere else in Scotland. Where I grew up is somewhere that as an adult seems like a nice place to live-growing up there I couldn't wait to get out of the place and only return when I absolutely have to.

I thought the midges was a reference to gmc :D

I looked at Sykes this morning as well. Mr O and i have had to have seperate holidays for years as there always needs to be some-one here for the dogs and cats. We have lost many cats to old age over the years and now are just left with the two Persians. They don't leave the house very much anyway.... too fat and lazy.... so we can take them with us. The dogs are going to love it up there. I like self catering as you can bugger off and do what you like. Mr O is very unwell at present and will have surgery very shortly so this kind of holiday is ideal for him.
