I have to go to bed

Post by Oscar Namechange »

I got all ready to go to the take-away to work and can't stop being sick.

I have thrown up non stop since the day after i took the 'Chmapix' to stop me smoking and feel dizzy as well.

I feel so sick, i am going back to bed.

Anyone considering using 'Champix' to stop smoking be warned..... it can make you very very nauseas. You may also get a tendency to want to kill your neighbour if her dog doesn't stop barking, and scowl at passers-by and small children as well as throw a fit if kept waiting longer than two minutes in the supermarket cheque-out.

I feel so sick i can't even bring myself to answer gmc's post and tell him he's talking bollocks.

I shall catch you all later providing i haven't topped myself.

Usually the nausea comes in the 2nd or 3rd week!

There is also a tendency to think suicidal thoughts if you have a history of depression.

I'd stop taking them if I was you and go see your cessation on Tuesday.

Congratulations Kaz!

You HAVE successfully given up. The question is, can you stay that way? I once went 8 months without, then for various stupid reasons had a fag and wallop! That was it. I was a smoker again.:o

I suspect that like most (all?) addictions you never quite get over it and will always have to be careful in this matter.

But I hope you are proud of yourself. You should be!

Oscar: Hope you feel better soon.

I'm stilll up, grrrrrrrrrrrrr!:-5:-5

The thing is, whether they want to or not....it is an addiction, and 90% of people do need some sort of help than to just go cold turkey.

Mike used the patch years ago and it worked fabulously, every two weeks you applied a smaller patch as you just didn't require as much nicotine, he had nightmares.......but that is a well know side effect with the patch.

After Mike had said they cause nightmares, I was very skeptical to try it, as we both were trying to quit.

but how do you handle your cravings?

I dont know Odie:-3:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl I just had decided in my mind that i wasnt going to smoke and that i knew it would be hard but i had to ignore the cravings,,, i ate basically. Tried making sure i had a bag of raisins etc nearby,,, the craving does pass,, and keep occupied,, i knew what to expect and told myself i had to go through it and suffer it and eventually i would feel better, Its like when you had your teeth out odie ,, you suffered a lot of pain and discomfort but there wasnt much you could do about it ,, you just had to put up with it until you felt better:thinking:

I think we think of cigs as something we like ,, a ttreat ,, something nice ,, so therefore if we quit we are depriving ourselves of something,,try to think of it not as depriving yourself but of healing yourself of an affliction,, making yourself feel better:)

It's obviously true then.....because as you said, you really wanted to quit.

It's like my mom I guess.....when she found out she first had breast cancer....she never smoked one cigarette again....nah, shouldn't say that, as that was fright she experienced.

It is also weird as I said on Abbey's thread, my girlfriend went to be hypnotized several times, and it worked for her.......but still wondering if that was mind over matter?......because you are not put under like most think in the movies......its just a relaxation method they use.

I tried Chantix more than a year ago. Had horrible hallucinations. Then I read about the man who tried to kill someone with an ax... Threw them in the garbage. 130.00 down the drain.
