Could you imagine? What on earth were those nurses thinking?:-5 I hope that poor mum sues the daylights out of that hospital. Yes, they should have called for an ambulance right away as the mother's health is also on the line.

'Keep your dead baby in a fridge' nurse tells woman who had miscarriage - mirror.co.ukWhat on earth is this country coming to fgs and our NHS that is costing us all more money in taxes and getting less and less service as this has proved. We do not get our NHS free as some seem to think....nothing in this country is free and most of us have our tax bills to prove that.....still what do the fat cats care as long as there ok and get all their little perks. The treatment shown here is beyond belief.

This brings tears to my eyes....!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really can't test my nerves with this extreme abuse of authority/stupidity.

The stupid Nurse will be transferred - the Hosp. will eventually pay out $$$..

and so what - this young lady & what she just experienced will be a trauma that'll stay with her forever... unfortunate trauma

did any one think she could've bleed to death - then to open your freezer daily until her appt......!!!!

I just can't stand this - I wish this young lady knew me & would've called me

I would've been HELL ON WHEELS & she would've been seen..

and I'd give some HELL lessons to others....

Unbelievable is right...

Yes, the trauma will stay with this woman forever is right. I also suffered a miscarriage but in the 1st trimester....I remember they called it a blob!:-5:-5. My baby was not a "blob":-1. I still think of him to this day...I always assumed it was a boy....they wouldn't release the body to us and I did try believe me. Wanted to give him/her a proper burial. Just made me so mad.

Oh, Ducks

I'm so sorry.

I always thought a miscarriage/death of a fetus/baby was burried. ??

do you have children now? of course your trauma will never go away..

The fact here with this scenario - the possibility is the young lady may not be able to have another child- due the delay of care..!!!

pure NEGLECT.

as others stated - we pay High prices for MEDICAL CARE , and get this..

unexceptable

again I'm so very sorry Ducks

I feel very bad for the poor woman as i have had mis-carraiges and it's hell but i would put this down to one insensitive NHS worker rather than an over-all image of our health service.

In any large organisation, you will get the horror stories because they are not going to get it all right 100% of the time.

The NHS is free. Yes, us tax payers pay in NHS contributions but remember that if you were an immigrant arriving here with nothing or you were on benifit all your life you would be treated exactly the same as a tax payer.

I do get annoyed when folk slate our NHS as compared to other countries even Ireland, we have the best system in the world. Try having an accident in Greece or Turkey to appreciate what we have got.

I have nothing but praise for the NHS especially with the way Mr O has has been treated.

thank you Patsy. Yes, I have 4 children now. This was my 2nd pregnancy and we went on to have 3 after that. Oh, yes and I totally agree with you...she could have bled to death or worse...they would still have to remove the placenta don't you think? My heart goes out to this young woman:-4. As for the baby I lost...they also called it "medical waste":-5:-5. In my book, that baby was made with love and to have them insult said baby was just way too ignorant for me. I switched doctors after that.

Quite. Insensitivity is one thing, medical incompetence quite another. I should expect that the person who offered this advice be heavily censured.

And guess who gets the first treatments in these hospitals? Yeah, the immigrants here...no insurance, etc. Had to wait 5 hrs a year ago for Laura to have her foot xrayed and we are insured. It stinks all around imo.

IMO, the US has the worst healthcare. Satan aka the insurance industry drives up costs, etc. It is abs the worst...I will never take any of my kids to the ER again...straight to somewhere else.. Obama wants us all to have Universal health care and now with the latest Repub senator switching sides...who knows, maybe we'll get it...I hope so. But the insurance satans will try to block it with their lobbying, etc.

Matterless, matterless matterless.

I dont agree its free either, but thats neither here nor there, and even if it was it dont excuse sloppy service. I dont live in Greece ir Turkey i live in Engand, sadly i have had family members needing a lot of care form the NHS over the last 3 years,,, i have seen appalling treatment and lack of care..over and over,, i keep going on at my hubs to see how much it would b for a private health care policy or summat cos if i thought i had to go in to the hospital here i would be terrified.

I am well pleased Mr O has been looked after well and i do mean that sincerely Oscar, as he deserves it as much as the next person, and its hard enough to struggle with ill health without the extra stress of poor care.

in this case yes it does seem to be the insensitivity of one worker, and in another case,, and another ,,, a lot of one workers adds up to something pretty dam wong in my opinion. In my experience i have lost all faith in the NHS:(

I've also had my share of hospital treatment over the years and i could not fault them.

I think it comes down to the individual hospital and the way the bosses run it. There are some shockers out there granted but over-all i believe compared to other countries, we are lucky.

I've been in many hospitals around the country but there is no doubt that when i had the pulmery embolism, i would be dead had it not have been for the speed in which the paramedics got to me and the emergency treatment i had. I have had ten years of ill health myself with many hospital visits and all staff i have spoken to are frustrated at the way hospitals are run by men in grey suits and not nursing staff. To me, that is the only way we can get back to sensibility..... sack the beurocrats and give the wards back to the nurses.

I have also been in hospital and seen another side to it where some patients think the nursing staff are there to wait on them hand and foot.

To me, that is the only way we can get back to sensibility..... sack the beurocrats and give the wards back to the nurses.

I have also been in hospital and seen another side to it where some patients think the nursing staff are there to wait on them hand and foot.

We go to a hospital way down the road and then we have Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) which is an excellent hospital for kids, etc. No way will I ever step foot in to DCMH or Fitzgerald Mercy ever again. Actually Fitz it the worst er I've ever been in, a complete dumping ground for the most moronic populace...good they can have it.:wah:

Our CHOP is pretty much one of the best children's hospt. in the world. And my local Taylor Hosp. is the one we go to now. Sorry for the confusion though if you guys thought we never to to the hospital...yeah, we do but with bone breaks I will just go straight to the orthopedic one.:)

Yes, they get the treatment before the insured peeps. It's very annoying on our end. I don't see why we the insured have to wait 5 hrs or longer for serious medical probs and they get to go first for stupid stuff like a stuffed up nose.:-5 And you know who is footing the bill for them since they have no insurance?:-5

Agreed ,, as long as they are good nurses and know what the term nursing means...and it would help if a lot of the paperwork was taken off them so they could actually do some proper nursing:thinking: and yes ,, some patients probably do think they are to be waited on hand and foot,,, but not in our hospital ,,, no chance:yh_rotfl but i have seen a worrying lack of care oscar from nurses,,, not even looking at the patient or smiling at them ,, i know we can all have bad days,, but even when ye busy you can surely say ok there? Its the attitude that gets me sometimes:(

My aunt is in there at the moment and she is giving them hell:rolleyes: i seriously feel sorry for them ,, but you know with a little understanding she can be handled quite easily and turn in to a pussycat;)

Another thing,,, why is it like the bloomin secret service? trying to find out whats wrong with you ,, or with your aunt inthis case,,, when hubs was in the raf and i had dealings with the american hospital they just gave me my medical records to take to diff departments myself ,, and then give them to me to take back to England when we were leaving there. Here you are not allowed to see your medical records,,, hang on ,, yes you are ,, but best not ask:lips::yh_rotfl
