the problem with playing god

Post by farmer giles »

if there is a god and he does indeed hear our prayers ,you know like dear god with right on our side blah blah blah let us win the war or the lottery or let tottenham win a game :thinking:

with every action he might take there is a reaction ,thus saying if you take from one or give to another somewhere then you cant give or have to take from another

ok my point and its a good point i think

as i was walking my dogs i saw a huge crow trying to take a baby pigeon from its nest with the parent pigeons flapping around helpless whilst this big black monster stole their chick

to say it was very upsetting was putting it mildly ,so i shouted and threw the dogs ball at the crow and after a while it flew off the pigeons took charge and look after the squab the proper name for a baby pigeon and as i walked back home i felt good

for a while

then i started thinking about the crow and maybe it had chicks that needed to be fed and thanks to me they might be hungry now

i mean what right do i have to interfere with nature and disrupt the food chain just because i thought pigeons are nice and fluffy and crows are noisy terrorists :-3:-3

god if your up there what a tough job you have and if tottenham dont win this weekend i understand what you are going through there is probably a west brom fan praying for there team to beat mine and he goes to church more than me :wah::wah:

Great question!!

That is the whole dilemma isn’t it? How much interference can we have on nature? How much can we really try to control things?

I don’t know the answer but you know what, in life there are predators, of all types, and even if it means standing up for the underdog despite the knock on effects, so what? We have an instinctive need to protect the vulnerable from attack.

Yes, the crow may have needed to feed it’s young, but do you want to be a part of feeding the predators or protecting the underdog?

Agree. The predators can always survive the odd interference. The underdog will always benefit from any help.

Tottenham, on the other hand, should be regarded as a lost cause. Some underdogs are beyond help I'm afraid ;)

We like to hand out the odd scraps to give you something to cheer about :wah:

I've had plenty of practice for this, my brother-in-law, niece and nephew being season ticket holders at WH Lane. My guard is always up :D

I'd have let the crow have the pigeon, nasty pooping rats with wings that they are.

But I might be a bit bitter about the amount of pigeon (and seagull) crap that lands on my car ...............

Wow. Baby crows squeaking, dehydrated, just hanging onto their little lives by a thread.

I hope your proud mister !

For compassionate people its a hard thing not to get involved. We want to do the right thing when we see suffering. Very admirable human quality but recently Ive come to the conclusion mother nature is a balanced eco-system that we shouldnt interfere with. We should reduce our impact on nature when wen but it will flourish without involvement. It knows what its doing more than we do.

If mother nature didn't want us to interfere, it wouldn't have created us in the first place.:yh_tong2
