Don't judge this book by it's cover either...

Britain's Got Talent did it again tonight! It produced yet another book which should not be judged by its cover! :)

Tonight a young man named Greg Pritchard (24) walked on stage looking like a cool young dude. I looked at his spiky gelled hair and thought he might well be going to sing an Elvis Presley number, although that was probably a wacky idea and I really expected him to sing some boy band number.

Imagine my utter surprise (and that of everyone else in the auditorium) when he not only burst into Nessun Dorma but also did it in this totally unexpected falsetto voice! It was the most bizarre thing I have ever heard! It truly sounded like a woman singing! We were all quite shocked and didn't know whether to laugh as if it were a joke or to believe in him. We thought maybe he was miming to a taped track, but then why would he sing in such a high falsetto voice? Why not sing along to a deeper male tenor voice? Watching the TV we could see the presenters, Ant and Dec, the judges, even the audience asking the same stunned questions we were.

After his performance Greg said that he was a male soprano, although it's usually called a counter-tenor. I don't know if any of you have heard anything this unusual before but you just HAVE to give it a listen and see what you think!

I was looking as much as possible at the movement of his chest as a soprano needs a lot here. But, I couldn't see a lot of movement. It's difficult to say at the moment. Lip sync being slightly out didn't help. If he is genuine, then he has a lot of potential.

I wonder if he has been to classes or if this is something he has simply played with (assuming it's a genuine talent).

At this stage, I'm not entirely convinced that this is not a trick stunt.

MOTTO TO LIVE BY:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

WOO HOO!!, what a ride!!!"

Sounds like he has a testicle problem ;)

But a wonderful voice though.
