Are you getting Grumpier as you get older......are you turning into your Mother or Father.....do you want to moan about things that you never would have years ago....do you think that Kids get to much these days and how different it was when you were a Child and your favourite game was throwing dice up in the air and catching them....and get so excited having a game of Snakes and Ladders.Getting older isnt easy at times and does age bring a Grumpier you:(

I don't think age has anything to do with grumpiness. If anything, I have become more laid back and pleasant as I've grown older, but less tolerant of fools. Some people were born grumpy and have never changed.

Totally agree there Maggie. Hubs is always saying "your in your 40's dear"...yeah so what. Have to laugh though as my teen son says to me "mom, you shouldn't be playing super mario kart or going to concerts, etc.......huh, oh right, I shouldn't have a life? I don't know where he gets these antique ideas.

I think I see time as a precious commodity now, and don't like to waste it. I think what makes me grumpy is when I have to wait a long time for someone to get something done.

Not really. Getting a bit set in my ways and dislike a mess that I didn't make but have to clean up.

A bit upset that my muscles and bones won't let me do all the things I would like to. Guess that does make me grumpy a little. I hate hearing myself say I can't do this myself anymore. Used to be there wasn't anything I couldn;t tackle on my own. Seems I am always asking for help now. :(

What does make me happy is finding all you good people here. It really makes my day when I get to chat, laugh, cry and help if I can. :-4

Old age is a state of mind but believe me the body feels it. :-5

I am not set in my ways, event though I am nearly 62, I have started going to a gym and intend to go at least 3 times every week and I also intend to go swimming again. I certainly don't intend my bones to creak and groan, and if I do grow old, I will grow old disgracefully.:wah:

the best way... :D and time for my favourite poem:D

When I am Old

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple

With a red hat that doesn't go, and doesn't suit me,

And I shall spend my pension

on brandy and summer gloves

And satin sandals,

and say we've no money for butter.

I shall sit down on the pavement when I am tired,

And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells,

And run my stick along the public railings,

And make up for the sobriety of my youth.

I shall go out in my slippers in the rain

And pick the flowers in other people's gardens,

And learn to spit.

You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat,

And eat three pounds of sausages at a go,

Or only bread and pickle for a week,

And hoard pens and pencils and beer mats

and things in boxes.

But now we must have clothes that keep us dry,

And pay our rent and not swear in the street,

And set a good example for the children.

We will have friends to dinner and read the papers.

But maybe I ought to practice a little now?

So people who know me

are not too shocked and surprised,

When suddenly I am old

and start to wear purple!

Jenny Joseph

I may join you in the pooping on peeps heads...been there also.

This is weird as my hubs told me a few weeks ago....his neice is the secretary at his company and she was in the office alone one day and out of the corner of her eye she saw a man sitting at a desk in the back room...her grandfather!...she said he just vanished into thin air. He always did say he would come back from the dead to "check things"...guess he was right. Hubs says stuff is always moved around, that if your there alone, you can hear someone walking around in the supply room and checking things...but it doesn't bother them...they know who it is.

I beleive too. I know my mother came back to check on me. when I was younger and my father remarried, we moved to a different house and I got my mothers and fathers old bedroom set. Every night I would shut the drawers to my dresser, top drawer had all my pictures and albums and such in it, and in the morning, that drawer would be open. Didn't happen everyday only on days that I especially missed her.
