Memorial Day at our School

Post by Kathy Ellen »

Even though our ''Memorial Day" in the USA is not until this Monday, May 25th, our school celebrated today with 3 beautiful concerts to honor all of our men and women who have fought in our wars.

For me, this is a day to honor citizens of all nations who have died during our wars and honor our veterans who have survived. I thank each and everyone of you:-6

Today our school had our "Spring Concert" that honored our military service members. I wish that I could share some pictures with you of our kidlets singing, playing musical instruments and honoring our military. We have almost 600 kidlets and everyone from children to parents and teachers were involved in making our "Memorial Day" special.

Our Music Department is absolutely amazing. Our Music/Art teachers have the ability to "bring out the best qualities" in our children.

I just cannot begin to explain how beautifully the children performed. Our shy 4th and 5th graders (9 to 11 year olds) sang patriotic songs, danced and performed skits for 700 people in our gym. They were so confident and prepared. During the last chorus song the whole school stood at attention, saluted the flag and sang a wonderful patriotic song to honor our military.

I was just so proud of our kidlets today. They rose to the occasion, memorized lyrics to songs, practiced songs on their instruments....and above all...looked forward to respecting our military citizens and their families on "Memorial Day." Most of our community will be going to a "Memorial Day Parade" on Monday.

All of our kidlets shined today, and they should be so proud of themselves.

Women are bitchy and predictable ...men are not and that's the key to knowing the truth.
