I hate it when I am thinking back to 25-30 years old and then I look in a mirror and wonder who in the heck is that old lady?

Yes, I have a hairy lip...well, until I pluck it to death.

I have hot flashes from hell and can't see for crap without my glasses anymore

Getting old is full of all kinds of suprises and you discover parts of your body that you didn't know you had cause the all of a sudden they hurt for no reason at all.

Ahh the Golden Years. ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!

Carolly;1192107 wrote: I've seen two shows lately that went on and on about how mid-life is a great time for women. Just last week Oprah had a whole show on how great menopause will be . .. . Puhleeeeeeeze! I've had a few thoughts of my own and would like to share them with you. Whether you are pushing 40, 50, 60 (or maybe even just pushing your luck), you'll probably relate. Mid-life is when the growth of hair on our legs slows down. This gives us plenty of time to care for our newly acquired mustache.:-5

In mid-life women no longer have upper arms, we have wing spans. We are no longer women in sleeveless shirts, we are flying squirrels in drag.

Mid-life is when you can stand naked in front of a mirror and you can see your rear without turning around.:-5

Mid-life is when you go for a mammogram and you realize that this is the only time someone will ask you to appear topless. :(

Mid-life is when you want to grab every firm young lovely in a tube top and scream, 'Listen, honey, even the Roman empire fell and those will too.':p

Mid-life brings wisdom to know that life throws us curves and we're sitting on our biggest ones.:o

Mid-life is when you look at your know-it-all, beeper-wearing teenager and think, 'For this I have stretch marks?' :-5:-5

In mid-life your memory starts to go.. In fact the only thing we can retain is water.:o

Mid-life means that your Body By Jake now includes Legs By Rand McNally--more red and blue lines than an accurately scaled map of Wisconsin .

Mid-life means that you become more reflective. You start pondering the 'big' questions. What is life? Why am I here? How much Healthy Choice ice cream can I eat before it's no longer a healthy choice? :-3

But mid-life also brings with it an appreciation for what is important. We realize that breasts sag, hips expand, and chins double, but our loved ones make the journey worthwhile. Would any of you trade the knowledge that you have now, for the body you had way back when? Maybe our bodies simply have to expand to hold all the wisdom and love we've acquired.. That's my philosophy and I'm sticking to it! ;):D:guitarist

OMG!! so this is what I have to look forward too? :-5

Over here we get the dreaded AARP crap. I think it's stands for American Association of Retired Persons or something like that. My Dad calls it "the Old Farts Organization", pretty close to the truth. I got my first one at 50.

I like it when the cashier's ask if you are over 62 so you can qualify for the senior discount - no, but I'd really like to see what you look like wearing a half gallon of milk... :-5 (nice, ain't I? :yh_rotfl )

Yes Hope, and sooooooo much more. The big "M" is a trip. They aren't hot flashes, they're power surges ;)

I just got done mowing the yard in my swimsuit. Folks out and about in two of the yards around me and no privacy fence in sight..

headphones on and singing along with aerosmith..:guitarist

I do put my shirt over for the front yard, but that's it...

I'm old and I'll be paying my mortgage for at least another 10 years..

But I'm in my yard, so I'll dress how I damned well please. If it puts you off your supper that's just too damned bad..:p

The older I get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for. :wah:
ALOHA!!

MOTTO TO LIVE BY:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

WOO HOO!!, what a ride!!!"

My theory on this is well thought out (according to me :D). Menopause was invented by men, hence the "men" in menopause. To retaliate for all the bittchin' women have done throughout the ages about all the beer drinking that men do, they (men) decided that when we hit the big M, they'd give us a little bit of what they have been dealing with for eons - a beergut...

Just friggin great. I hit 50 and I look like I drank a keg of beer (and am carrying the keg around too) and no longer have a butt... :-5:-5:-
